മലയാളം വിക്കിപ്പീഡിയയിലെ പ്രവർത്തകർ നവംബർ 1.2 തീയ്യതികളിൽ ഇടപ്പള്ളി ആർആർസിയിൽ വച്ച് വിക്കി ഹാക്കത്തോൺ 2014 സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചു. വിക്കി ഹാക്കത്തോണിൽ ചർച്ച ചെയ്ത വിഷയങ്ങൾ താഴെ.

Photo Walk തിരുത്തുക
The Malayalam Wikimedia Hackathone - 2014 (MLWH-2014) was started with a Photowalk along the heritage city of 'Fort Cochin' and Mattanchery. The objectives for this Photowalk were several folds: (1) Acquire some of the most wanted photographs of the historic landmarks and landscapes of Kochi, also known as the 'Queen of the Arabian Sea' - These photographs will eventually form part of several articles within Wikipedia and Wikivoyage. (2) Some fresh source material for the media upload exercises, its training and demonstration which would take place later in the night and next day. (3) A refreshing walk-cum-picnic for all the participants which will provide enough time for them to ice-break, get to know and tune up their moods and frequencies for the Hackathon sessions.
The itinerary of the Photowalk:
The Photowalk trip started from near the 'Changampuzha' park near the venue of Hackathon. As the park was closed for public at this time of the day, we were not able to capture many pictures from inside the compound. Having become content with the few shots obtained from outside the compound fence, the team moved onto the 'Marine Drive'. A slow-paced walk along the marine drive reached us to the Marine Drive Boat Jetty from where we got onto one of the KSWTC boats. After a short cruise through the sea, the boat landed us at the Customs Jetty.
From the Customs Jetty, our team proceeded along the road towards the Mahatma Gandhi Beach and then looped through a distance of 2 Kilometers in approximately 2 hours. During the walk, hundreds of photographs were taken. Some of these were using a DSLR and some other using various point & shoot and mobile phone cameras. These photos would later become part of the Hackathon training material.
The team then rode a boat back to the Marine Drive and then returned to the Hackathon venue. There they joined more participants who had just arrived.
During the photowalk, many points were discussed on how to take best possible photographs for the Wikimedia Commons repository even with the most humble cameras. We also demonstrated on the best methods to take panorama photos, to frame pictures avoiding potential concerns for privacy infringement of public, using good judgement to avoid copyright infringement of portraits, sculptors and other works of art etc.
Effectively, the photowalk was the first real event marking the beginning of WikiSangamotsavam - 2014.

- ചിത്രത്തിനു് ഏറ്റവും യോജിച്ച ഫ്രെയിം തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുക. ഫ്രെയിമിനകത്തു് ഏതെല്ലാം വസ്തുക്കൾ ഉൾപ്പെടണം, ഏതെല്ലാം വേണ്ട എന്നു തീരുമാനിക്കുക. അത്യാവശ്യമല്ലെങ്കിൽ, ചലിക്കുന്ന വസ്തുക്കളെ ഒഴിവാക്കുക. അത്യാവശ്യമല്ലെങ്കിൽ, ആളുകളെ ഒഴിവാക്കുക.

- ഡിജിറ്റൽ സൂം ഉപയോഗിക്കാതിരിക്കുക. അതുകൊണ്ടു് ഗുണമേന്മയിൽ ലാഭമൊന്നുമില്ല. ആവശ്യത്തിനു് റിസലൂഷൻ ലഭ്യമാണെങ്കിൽ, ഓപ്ടിക്കൽ സൂം തന്നെയും ഒഴിവാക്കുക. പരമാവധി ദൃശ്യവിസ്തൃതി ലഭ്യമായ തരത്തിൽ 'Wide frame' ഉപയോഗിക്കുക. ഫ്രെയിമിൽ ആവശ്യമില്ലാത്ത ഭാഗങ്ങൾ പിന്നീടു് Crop'ചെയ്തു് നീക്കാവുന്നതാണു്.
- ആളുകളുടെ ഫോട്ടോ എടുക്കുമ്പോൾ ക്ലിക്കു ചെയ്യുന്നതിനു തൊട്ടുമുമ്പ് അവർക്കു് ആവശ്യമായ 'Timing clue' കൊടുക്കുക.ആവർ കണ്ണുചിമ്മാതിരിക്കാനും അനങ്ങാതെ ശരിയായി നിൽക്കാനും കൃത്യമായ ഈ മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് സഹായിക്കും. കണ്ണുചിമ്മാനുള്ള ഇടവേളയും ഫോട്ടോ ക്ലിക്കു ചെയ്യാനെടുക്കുന്ന സമയവും തമ്മിൽ എങ്ങനെ പൊരുത്തം ഉണ്ടാക്കാം.
- Multi-frame Panoramaയ്ക്കു വേണ്ടി ചിത്രമെടുക്കുമ്പോൾ Rotating Motion, Panning Motion തുടങ്ങിയ രീതികൾ, അവ തമ്മിലുള്ള വ്യത്യാസം, ഇടത്തുനിന്നും വലത്തേക്കു് കറങ്ങുന്നതുകൊണ്ടുള്ള മെച്ചങ്ങൾ, പനോരമയിൽ ആളുകൾ, പക്ഷികൾ തുടങ്ങിയവയെ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തേണ്ടതും ഒഴിവാക്കേണ്ടതും എങ്ങനെ?

Making a Panorama തിരുത്തുക
Use any preferred software for your photo editing. Here we used Microsoft Image Composite Editor - Microsoft ICE for the same (You are encouraged to use any free software like Hugin )
- Select the set of photos which you want to include
- Drop those photos in the allocated area in the tool.
- Edit the boarders of your photos.
- Select your motion direction.
- Scale your photos (scale, crop, etc) and Adjust your quality.
- Export to preferable picture file format.
