കേരള സംസ്ഥാന ചലച്ചിത്ര അക്കാദമി നൽകുന്ന പുരസ്കാരം

മലയാളചലച്ചിത്ര മേഖലക്ക് സമഗ്ര സംഭാവനകൾ നൽകിയ വ്യക്തികൾക്കായി കേരള സർക്കാരിനു കീഴിലുള്ള കേരള സംസ്ഥാന ചലച്ചിത്ര അക്കാദമി നൽകുന്ന പുരസ്കാരമാണ് ജെ.സി. ഡാനിയേൽ അവാർഡ്.

മലയാള സിനിമയുടെ പിതാവ് എന്ന് അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന [[ജെ.സി. ദാനിയേൽ|ജെ.സി ദാനിയേലി[1] നിർമ്മാതാവും വിതരണക്കാരനുമായ ടി.ഇ വാസുദേവനാണ് പ്രഥമ പുരസ്കാരം നേടിയത്.[2][3] 2007-ലെ പുരസ്കാരം ഛായാഗ്രാഹകനായ മങ്കട രവിവർമ്മക്കാണ്‌ ലഭിച്ചത്. 2008-ലെ പുരസ്കാരം ജനറൽ പിക്ചേഴ് രവി എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന കെ. രവീന്ദ്രനാഥൻ നായർക്ക് ലഭിച്ചു.[4]. ചലച്ചിത്ര ലോകത്ത് നൽകിയ സമഗ്രസംഭാവനകളെ പരിഗണിച്ച് 2012-ലെ ജെ സി ഡാനിയേൽ പുരസ്ക്കാരം ജെ. ശശികുമാറിനു ലഭിച്ചു[5]

സാംസ്കാരിക വകുപ്പ് പ്രത്യേകം നിയമിക്കുന്ന ജൂറിയാണ് എല്ലാ വർഷവും പുരസ്കാര ജേതാവിനെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്നത്.[3][6] 2018 - ലെ വിവരങ്ങൾ പ്രകാരം, പുരസ്കാര ജേതാവിന് ഒരു മൊമന്റോയും പ്രശസ്തി ഫലകവും ഒപ്പം ₹5,00,000 (US$7,800) രൂപയുമാണ് ലഭിക്കുന്നത്. കേരളസംസ്ഥാന ചലച്ചിത്ര പുരസ്കാരം വിതരണം ചെയ്യുന്ന അതേ വേദിയിൽ വച്ചു തന്നെയാണ് ജെ.സി. ഡാനിയേൽ പുരസ്കാരവും നൽകുന്നത്.[7] 1997 വരെ സാംസ്കാരിക വകുപ്പ് നേരിട്ടാണ് ജേതാവിനെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത് പുരസ്കാരം നൽകിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നത്. എന്നാൽ 1998 - ൽ കേരള സംസ്ഥാന ചലച്ചിത്ര അക്കാദമി രൂപീകരിക്കുകയും പുരസ്കാര നിർണയം അക്കാദമിയുടെ ചുമതലയാക്കി മാറ്റുകയും ചെയ്തു.[3][8] 2002 വരെ ₹50,000 (US$780) രൂപയായിരുന്നു പുരസ്കാരത്തിന്റെ സമ്മാനത്തുക.[9] എന്നാൽ 2003 - ൽ സമ്മാനത്തുക രണ്ടിരട്ടിയായി വർധിപ്പിച്ചുവെങ്കിലും ആ വർഷം പുരസ്കാരം പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുകയുണ്ടായില്ല. സമ്മാനത്തുക വർധിപ്പിച്ചതിനു ശേഷം ആദ്യമായി പുരസ്കാരം ലഭിച്ചത് 2004 - ൽ ചലച്ചിത്ര നടൻ മധുവിനാണ്.[10][11] 2005 - ൽ പുരസ്കാരം ലഭിച്ച ആറന്മുള പൊന്നമ്മയും, 2018-ൽ പുരസ്കാരം ലഭിച്ച ഷീലയും ആണ് ജെ.സി. ഡാനിയേൽ പുരസ്കാരം ലഭിച്ച വനിതകൾ.
