മതരാഹിത്യം

മതവിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ അഭാവമോ,നിരാസമോ,അതിനോടൂള്ള താത്പര്യക്കുറവോ, വിദ്വേഷമോ ആണ് മതരാഹിത്യം.[1]മതരാഹിത്യം നിർബന്ധമായും നിരീശ്വരവാദപരമാകണമെന്നില്ല.ഈശ്വര വിശ്വാസത്തിലധിഷ്ടിതമായ മതരാഹിത്യവും സാധ്യമാണ്.ഉദാഹരണത്തിന്ന് 18-ആം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിലെ യൂറോപ്പിൽ മതരാഹിത്യത്തിന് ഉത്തമോദാഹരണമായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെട്ടത് ഡീയിസമാണ്.[2]

പ്യു റിസർച് സെന്ററിന്റെ 2012-ലെ ഒരു സർവേ അനുസരിച് ലോകജനസംഖ്യയുടെ ഏതാണ്ട് 16% പേർ മതരഹിതരാണ്.84%-പേരാണ് മതസഹിതജീവിതം നയിക്കുന്നത്്  .[3] അവരുടെ കണക്കുകൂട്ടലനുസരിച്ച്  2050-ഓടെ മതരഹിതരായ ആളുകളുടെ എണ്ണം വൻ തോതിൽ കുറയാനാണ് സാധ്യത..[4]
