എട്ട് ജൈവമേഖലകളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് ഇന്തോ മലയ ജൈവമേഖല (Indomalaya ecozone). തെക്കേ ഏഷ്യയും തെക്കുകിഴക്കേ ഏഷ്യയും മുതൽ കിഴക്കേ ഏഷ്യയുടെ തെക്കേഭാഗം വരെ ഇത് നീണ്ടുകിടക്കുന്നു. അഫ്ഘാനിസ്ഥാനിലൂടെ ഇന്ത്യൻ ഉപഭൂഖണ്ഡം കടന്ന് തെക്കുകിഴക്കേ ഏഷ്യയിലൂടെ തെക്കൻ ചൈനയുടെ ഉയരം കുറഞ്ഞ ഭാഗങ്ങളിലൂടെ ഇന്തോനേഷ്യ മുഴുവൻ ഉൾക്കൊണ്ട് വാലസ് രേഖയുടെ കിഴക്ക് ജാവ, ബാലി, ബോർണിയോ എന്നീ പ്രദേശങ്ങളെല്ലാം കൂടിച്ചേർന്ന മേഖലയാണ് ഇത്. ഇതിൽ ഫിലിപ്പൈൻസും തായ്‌വാന്റെ ഉയരം കുറഞ്ഞ സ്ഥലങ്ങളും ജപ്പാന്റെ ര്യുക്കു ദ്വീപുകളും ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നുണ്ട്.
