ചുവപ്പ് വാലൻ ഗൗരാമി

ചുവപ്പ് വാലൻ ഗൗരാമി (ഒസ്ഫ്രോണിമുസ് ലതിക്ലാവിയുസ്) എന്ന മത്സ്യം ഒസ്ഫ്രോനിമുഡെ എന്ന വലിയ ഗൗരാമി കുടുംബത്തിലെ അംഗമാണ്. തെക്കുകിഴക്കൻ ഏഷ്യൻ ദ്വീപായ ബോർണിയോ സ്വദേശിയായ ഈ മത്സ്യത്തെ കിഴക്കൻ മലേഷ്യയിലെ സബായിലെ കിനാബത്താങ്കൻ, സെഗമ നദീതടങ്ങളിൽ മാത്രമാണ് കണ്ടുവരുന്നത്.[2] [3] [4] ഒരു അക്വേറിയം മത്സ്യയിനമായി 1992 ൽ ആദ്യം കരുതിയ, ഇതിന്റെ കൃത്യമായ ഭൂപരിധി പൂർണ്ണമായും ഉറപ്പായിരുന്നില്ല, അതുപോലെതന്നെ ചില ഉറവിടങ്ങൾ ഇവ ഇന്തോനേഷ്യയിൽ നിന്നാണെന്ന് തെറ്റായി റിപ്പോർട്ടുചെയ്യാനും കാരണമായി.[5]

ചുവപ്പ് വാലൻ ഗൗരാമി  പ്രായപൂർത്തിയിൽ 50 സെൻറീമീറ്റർ (20 ഇഞ്ച്) വരെ വളരാം. [5] ശരീരം വളരെ വലുതാണ്, പാർശ്വസ്ഥമായി ചുരുങ്ങുന്നു, ഏതാണ്ട് ഓവൽ ആകൃതിയിലാണ്. പ്രമുഖ താടിയെല്ലിനൊപ്പം തല വലുതാണ്. വാൽ വൃത്താകൃതിയിലാണ്, ശരീരത്തിന്റെ നിറം ചാര-നീല മുതൽ ചാര-പച്ച മുതൽ തവിട്ട് വരെയും പിന്നിൽ ഇരുണ്ട നിറത്തിലും വ്യത്യാസപ്പെടുന്നു. [10] പെൺ മത്സ്യങ്ങൾക്ക് മങ്ങിയ നിറങ്ങളുണ്ട്. ഓസ്ഫ്രോനെമസ് ജനുസ്സിലെ മറ്റ് ഇനങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ, മത്സ്യക്കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളും മുതിർന്നവരും തികച്ചും വ്യത്യസ്തരാണ്, കുട്ടികളിൽ നിറങ്ങൾ നാടകീയവും തിളക്കമുള്ള ചുവന്ന ചിറകുകൾ പ്രായത്തിനനുസരിച്ച് വികസിക്കുന്നു.[11]
