മീഥൈൽ സാലിസിലിക്കേറ്റ്Methyl salicylate (oil of wintergreen or wintergreen oil) ഒരു കാർബണിക എസ്റ്റെർ ആണ്. പ്രകൃതിയിൽ അനേകം സസ്യങ്ങൾ ഈ രാസവസ്തു നിർമ്മിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് വിന്റെർഗ്രീൻ എന്ന് അമേരിക്കൻ സസ്യം. മീഥൈൽ സാലിസിലിക്കേറ്റ് കൃത്രിമമായും നിർമ്മിച്ചുവരുന്നു. ഒരു സുഗന്ധദ്രവ്യമായും ആഹാരത്തിലും ബീവറേജുകളിലും ബാമുകളിലും ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.

ഫ്രഞ്ചു രസതന്ത്രജ്ഞനായിരുന്ന അഗസ്തെ ആന്ദ്രെ തോമസ് കഹോർസ് (1813–1891) ആണ് 1843ൽ ആദ്യമായി Gaultheria procumbens എന്ന സസ്യത്തിനിന്നും മീഥൈൽ സാലിസിലിക്കേറ്റ്' വേർതിരിച്ചെടുത്തത്. അദ്ദേഹം ഇത് ഒരു സാലിസിലിക്ക് ആസിഡിന്റെയും മെതനോളിന്റെയും എസ്റ്റർ ആണെന്നു തിരിച്ചറിയുകയും ചെയ്തു.[4]
