ഒട്ടോറിയോവയിലെ ക്രൈസ്റ്റ്ചർച്ചിലെ ടെ ഇരിംഗാ ഒ കഹുകുറയിലെ (കാഷ്മീർ ഹൈ സ്കൂൾ) സ്കൂൾ വിദ്യാർത്ഥിനിയാണ് ലൂസി ഗ്രേ.[5]സ്കൂൾ വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾക്ക് ചേരുന്നതിനുള്ള മാർച്ചുകൾ ഉൾപ്പെടെ സ്കൂൾ സ്ട്രൈക്ക് 4 ക്ലൈമറ്റ് പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളുടെ ദേശീയ ചെയർപേഴ്‌സണാണ് ലൂസി. [6][7]2019 ൽ മൂന്നു പ്രതിഷേധങ്ങൾ മാർച്ച് 15, മെയ് 24, [1] വീണ്ടും സെപ്റ്റംബർ 27 നും നടന്നു.[8][9]കോവിഡ് -19 പാൻഡെമിക് മൂലം ന്യൂസിലാന്റ് ലോക്ക്ഡൗണിലായിരിക്കെ 2020 മെയ് മാസത്തിൽ നാലാമത് ഇൻഡോർ പ്രതിഷേധം നടന്നു. കാലാവസ്ഥാ വ്യതിയാന പ്രതിസന്ധി കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്യാനുള്ള സർക്കാരിന്റെ പദ്ധതികളെക്കുറിച്ച് ചർച്ച ചെയ്യാൻ 2019 മെയ് മാസത്തിൽ ഗ്രേ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ജസീന്ദ ആർഡെർനുമായി കൂടിക്കാഴ്ച നടത്തി.[6][11] 2019 ലെ നാഷണൽ യങ് ലീഡേഴ്സ് ഡേ,[12] 2019 ഫെസ്റ്റിവൽ ഫോർ ദി ഫ്യൂച്ചർ, [13] ടിഇഡിഎക്സ് യൂത്ത് @ ക്രൈസ്റ്റ്ചർച്ച് [14]എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ അവർ സംസാരിച്ചു. 2020 ന്റെ തുടക്കത്തിൽ അവർ ഒരു 1.5 ഡിഗ്രിസ് ലൈവ്! ഇവന്റ് റീഡറായിരുന്നു.[15] 2020-2021 ഓൺ‌ലൈൻ ഒട്ടോറിയോവ ന്യൂസിലാന്റ് സസ്റ്റെയിനിബിൾ ഡെവെലോപ്മെന്റ് ഗോൾസ് സമ്മിറ്റിലെ മുഖ്യ പ്രഭാഷകയായിരുന്നു.[16]
