ന്യൂസിലാൻഡിന്റെ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയാണ് ജസിന്ത കേറ്റ് ലോറൽ ആഡേൺ (ജനനം: 26 ജൂലൈ 1980). ലേബർ പാർട്ടിയുടെ പ്രവർത്തകയായ ഇവർ 1 ആഗസ്ത് 2017 മുതൽ ലേബർ പാർട്ടിയുടെ നേതാവുമാണ്. മൗണ്ട് ആൽബർട്ട് മണ്ഡലത്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ള എം പി (Member of Parliament) ആയി 8 മാർച്ച് 2017 മുതൽ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു. 2008ലെ പൊതു തെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിലാണ് ജസിന്ത ആദ്യമായി പാർലമെന്റിലേക്ക് തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടത്.[2] 2001ൽ വൈകാറ്റൊ സർവകലാശാലയിൽ നിന്ന് ബിരുദം നേടിയശേഷം ആഡേൺ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ഹെലൻ ക്ലാർക്കിന്റെ ഓഫീസിൽ ഗവേഷകയായി ജോലി ആരംഭിച്ചു. പിന്നീട് ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ടോണി ബ്ലെയറിന്റെ നയ ഉപദേഷ്ടാവായി ജോലിചെയ്തു.[3] 2008ൽ ഇന്റർനാഷണൽ യൂണിയൻ ഓഫ് സോഷ്യലിസ്റ്റ് യൂത്തിന്റെ പ്രസിഡന്റായി തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു.[4]

2008 ലെ തെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ വോട്ടെടുപ്പിൽ പിന്നിലായെങ്കിലും ലേബർ പാർട്ടിയുടെ പിന്തുണയോടെ പാർലമെന്റിലെത്തിയ ജസിന്ത 2010 വരെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രായം കുറഞ്ഞ പാർലമെന്റംഗമായി തുടർന്നു.[5] 2014 ൽ ഓക്ക്ലാൻഡ് സെൻട്രലിൽ നിന്ന് വീണ്ടും രണ്ടാം സ്ഥാനത്തെത്തിയെങ്കിലും പാർട്ടി പിന്തുണയോടെ പാർലമെന്റിലെത്തി. നീതി, കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങൾ, ചെറുകിട വ്യാപാരം, കല-സംസ്കാരം എന്നിവയ്ക്കായുള്ള നിഴൽ വക്താവായി പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു. 2017ൽ മൗണ്ട് ആൽബർട്ട് ഉപതെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ എതിരില്ലാതെ തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു. പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി തിരുത്തുക

19 ഒക്ടോബർ 2017 ന് ലേബർ പാർട്ടി, ന്യൂസിലാൻഡ് ഫസ്റ്റ്, ഗ്രീൻ പാർട്ടി എന്നിവയുടെ പിന്തുണയോടെ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിപദത്തിലെത്തി.[12][13][14] ജെന്നി ഷിപ്ലിക്കും (1997–1999) ഹെലൻ ക്ലാർക്കിനും (1999–2008) ശേഷം ന്യൂസിലാൻഡിന്റെ മൂന്നാമത്തെ വനിതാ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയാണ് ആഡേൺ.[15][16] 37 വയസ്സിൽ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയായ ആഡേൺ 1856 ൽ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയായ എഡ്വേഡ് സ്റ്റഫോഡിനു ശേഷം ആ സ്ഥാനത്തെത്തിയ പ്രായം കുറഞ്ഞ വ്യക്തിയാണ്.[17]

15 മാർച്ച് 2019 ന്, ക്രൈസ്റ്റ് ചർച്ചിലെ പള്ളികളിൽ നടന്ന വെടിവെപ്പിൽ 50 ആളുകളെങ്കിലും മരണമടഞ്ഞു. ടെലിവിഷനിൽ പ്രക്ഷേപണം ചെയ്ത ഒരു പ്രസ്താവനയിൽ അനുശോചനമറിയിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ആഡേൺ ന്യൂസിലാൻഡിലോ ലോകത്ത് മറ്റെവിടെയെങ്കിലുമോ യാതൊരു സ്ഥാനവുമില്ലാത്ത തീവ്രവാദ ആശയങ്ങൾ ഉള്ള ആളുകളാണ് ആക്രമണം നടത്തിയതെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.[18]

തോക്ക് ഉപയോഗത്തിൽ കൂടുതൽ നിയന്ത്രണങ്ങൾ കൊണ്ടുവരാൻ ഗവണ്മെന്റ് ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നതായി ആഡേൺ വ്യക്തമാക്കി. ദേശീയ ദുഃഖാചരണം പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. തലസ്ഥാനമായ വെല്ലിൻഗ്ടണിൽ ആരംഭിച്ച അനുശോചന പുസ്തകത്തിൽ ആദ്യത്തെ കുറിപ്പ് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ആഡേണിന്റെ ആയിരുന്നു. കൂടാതെ ക്രൈസ്റ്റ്ചർച്ചിലെത്തി മരണമടഞ്ഞവരുടെ കുടുംബാംഗങ്ങളെയും രക്ഷാപ്രവർത്തകരെയും കാണുകയും ചെയ്തു. വെടിവെപ്പിനോടുള്ള ആഡേണിന്റെ പ്രതികരണം അന്താരാഷ്ട്രതലത്തിൽ പ്രശംസിക്കപ്പെട്ടു.[19][20][21][22][23]

ന്യൂസിലാൻറിലെ,[24] ഹാമിൽട്ടണിൽ ജനിച്ച ആർഡേൻ മോറിൻസ്വില്ലെയിലും മരുപ്പാറയിലുമായി വളർന്നു. അവിടെ ജസിന്തയുടെ പിതാവ് റോസ് ആർഡേൻ പോലീസ് ഓഫീസറായി[25] ജോലിചെയ്യുകയായിരുന്നു. മാതാവ് ലൗറൽ ആർഡേൺ ഒരു സ്കൂൾ പാചകപ്പുരയിലെ സഹായിയായി പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരുന്നു.[26] മോറിസ്വില്ലെ കോളജിൽ[27] വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം നിർവ്വഹിച്ച ജസിന്ത, സ്കൂൾ  ബോർഡ് ഓഫ് ട്രസ്റ്റീസിലെ വിദ്യാർത്ഥി പ്രതിനിധികൂടിയായിരുന്നു.[28] പിന്നീട് യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ഓഫ് വൈക്കാറ്റോയിൽ ഉപരിപഠനത്തിനു ചേർന്ന അവർ അവിടെനിന്ന്  2001 ൽ രാഷ്ട്രീയം പബ്ലിക് റിലേഷൻ എന്നിവ ഐഛികയമായി ബാച്ചിലർ ഓഫ് കമ്മ്യൂണിക്കേഷൻ സ്റ്റഡീസിൽ (ബിസിഎസ്) ബിരുദമെടുത്തു.[29]

1999 ലെ പൊതുതിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ ന്യൂ പ്ലിമത്ത് എം.പി. ഹാരി ഡൂയിൻഹോവനുവേണ്ടി അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പുനർ തെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ പ്രചാരണം നടത്തുന്നതിന് സഹായിക്കാനായി ലേബർ പാർട്ടിയുടെ ഒരു ദീർഘകാല അംഗവും ജസിന്തയുടെ അമ്മായിയുമായിരുന്ന മേരി ആർഡേനാണ് കൌമാരക്കാരനായ ജസീന്തയെ രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തിലേയ്ക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നത്.[30]

ദ ചർച്ച് ഓഫ് ജീസസ് ക്രൈസ്റ്റ് ഓഫ് ലാറ്റർ-ഡേ സെയിന്റ്സ് സഭയിലെ അംഗമായി വളർന്ന ആഡേൺ സഭയുടെ നയങ്ങൾ തന്റെ വ്യക്തിപരമായ നിലപാടുകളുമായി, പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് എൽ ജി ബി ടി അവകാശങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള പിന്തുണയുമായി വൈരുദ്ധ്യം പുലർത്തുന്നു എന്ന കാരണം പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ട് 2005ൽ സഭ വിട്ടു.[31] 2017ൽ താനൊരു അവിശ്വാസിയാണെന്ന് ആഡേൺ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു.[31]

ടെലിവിഷൻ അവതാരകനായ ക്ലാർക്ക് ഗേഫോഡ് ആണ് ആഡേണിന്റെ ജീവിത പങ്കാളി.[32][33] സ്വന്തം പേരിൽ ട്വിറ്റർ അക്കൗണ്ട് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ഇവരുടെ പാഡിൽസ് എന്ന് പേരായ പൂച്ച, ആഡേൺ അധികാരമേറ്റപ്പോൾ "പ്രഥമ മാർജ്ജാരൻ" എന്ന പേരിൽ പ്രശസ്തനായി.[34][35][36]

19 ജനുവരി 2018ന് താൻ ഗർഭിണിയാണെന്നും ജൂണിൽ തന്റെ ആദ്യത്തെ കുഞ്ഞിനെ പ്രസവിക്കുമെന്നും അറിയിച്ചു.ഗർഭിണിയാകുന്ന ആദ്യത്തെ ന്യൂസിലാണ്ട് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയാണിവർ. ആഡേൺ 21 ജൂൺ 2018ന് ആശുപത്രിയിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കുകയും.അന്നു തന്നെ ഒരു പെൺകുഞ്ഞിനെ പ്രസവിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. 1990ഇൽ പാകിസ്താൻ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയായിരുന്ന ബേനസീർ ഭൂട്ടോ പ്രസവിച്ചതിനു ശേഷം തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട ഒരു രാഷ്ട്രനേതാവ് അധികാരത്തിലിരിക്കേ പ്രസവിക്കുന്ന രണ്ടാമത്തെ സംഭവമാണിത്.[37]
