പല വലിപ്പത്തിലായി കണ്ടുവരുന്ന ആലിപ്പഴം പൊതുവെ ചെറിയ കഷണങ്ങളായാണു ഭൂമിയിൽ പതിക്കുന്നത്. ഗോളാകൃതിയിൽ നിന്ന് ഉരുകി വരുന്നതിനാൽ അതിനു കൃത്യമായ ആകൃതി ഉണ്ടാവാറില്ല. ആലിപ്പഴം വൻതോതിൽ ഭൂമിയിലേക്കു പതിക്കുന്നത് പലപ്പോഴും കൃഷി നാശം ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു.
