ഇവ തെക്കൻ യൂറോപ്പ്, വടക്കു പടിഞ്ഞാറൻ ആഫ്രിക്ക പിന്നെ ഏഷ്യയിൽ ഉഷ്ണമേഖല പ്രദേസങ്ങളിൽതുർക്കി, തെക്കൻറഷ്യ മുതൽ മംഗോളിയ വരെ പ്രജനനം നടത്തുന്നു..[2][3]

മുകൾവശത്ത് കടുത്ത വരകളുള്ള ചാര തവിട്ടു നിറം മുകൾ വശത്തും. നരച്ച വെള്ള അടി വശത്തും. തടിച്ച ചെറിയ കൊക്ക്. മൂർദ്ധാവിൽ ചെറിയ വരകളുണ്ട്. വ്യക്തമായ കൺപുരികമുണ്ട്. പുറം വാലിൽ വെള്ള നിറമുണ്ട്. I[4]പൂവനും പിടയും ഒരേപോലെയാണ്.[2] ദേശാടാനം നടത്തുമ്പോൾ ഇവ ഒരേപോലെയാണ് പറക്കുന്നത്.[5]
