അരേസീ സസ്യകുടുംബത്തിൽ ഉള്ള ഒരു ആരോഹിസസ്യമാണ് ഒടയാർവള്ളി [1] [2] കേരളത്തിലെ നിത്യഹരിതവനങ്ങളിലും അർദ്ധനിത്യഹരിതവനങ്ങളിലും മരങ്ങളിലും പാറക്കെട്ടുകളിലും ഇവ പറ്റിപ്പിടിച്ച് വളരാറുണ്ട്. അടിവള്ളി, അത്തിത്തിപ്പലി, ആനചുരുക്കി, ആനത്തിപ്പലി, ആനമകുടം, എലിത്തടിഒടിവള്ളി, മണ്ഡരിവള്ളി എന്നിങ്ങനെയും പേരുകളുണ്ട്.
