എവറസ്റ്റ് കൊടുമുടി കീഴടക്കിയ ആദ്യ ഇന്ത്യൻ സംഘത്തിലെ ഒമ്പതു പേരിൽ ഒരാളാണ് എച്ച്. പി. എസ്. അഹ്ലുവാലിയ [1]. എവറസ്റ്റ് കൊടുമുടി കീഴടക്കുന്ന ഇരുപത്തി ഒന്നാമത്തെ ആളും ആറാമത്തെ ഇന്ത്യക്കാരനുമാണ്1965 ൽ ക്യാപ്റ്റൻ എം എസ് കോഹ്‌ലിയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ നടന്ന ഈ മൂന്നാം ഇന്ത്യൻ എവറസ്റ്റ് പര്യവേഷണത്തിൽ 21 പ്രധാന പര്യവേഷണ അംഗങ്ങളും 50 ഷെർപകളും ഉൾപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു.കേണൽ നരേന്ദ്രകുമാർ ആയിരുന്നു ഡെപ്യൂട്ടി . പ്രാരംഭ ശ്രമം ഏപ്രിൽ അവസാനത്തിലായിരുന്നു, മോശം കാലാവസ്ഥയെത്തുടർന്ന് അവർ ബേസ് ക്യാമ്പിൽ തിരിച്ചെത്തി മികച്ച കാലാവസ്ഥയ്ക്കായി 2 ആഴ്ച കാത്തിരുന്നു.

1965 മെയ് 29 ന്, എവറസ്റ്റ് കൊടുമുടി ആദ്യമായി കീഴടക്കിയതിന്റെ 12 ആം വാർഷികദിനത്തിൽ നാലാമത്തെയും അവസാനത്തെയും ശ്രമത്തിൽ എച്ച്. സി. എസ്. റാവത്ത്,ഫു ദൊർജീ ഷെർപ എന്നിവരോട് ചേർന്ന് ഒരുമിച്ച് എവറസ്റ്റ് കീഴടക്കി. മൂന്ന് മലകയറ്റക്കാർ ഒരുമിച്ച് കൊടുമുടിയിൽ നിൽക്കുന്നത് ഇതാദ്യമായിട്ടായിരുന്നു.[2], [3],[4],[5], [6],[7],[8] .
