ഉദ്യാനസസ്യമായി കൃഷിചെയ്തുവരുന്ന വലിയ-പൂക്കളുള്ള ഒരു ഹൈബ്രിഡ് സസ്യമാണ് പാൻസി. [1]ഇത് വിയോള ജനുസ്സിൽപ്പെട്ട മെലിനിയം ("the pansies"),[2] പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് വിയോള ട്രൈകളർ ഹാർട്ട്സീസ് എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന യൂറോപ്പ്, പടിഞ്ഞാറൻ ഏഷ്യ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലെ വന്യയിനങ്ങളിൽ അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന പല സ്പീഷീസുകളുടെ സങ്കരയിനമാണ്.
