ലാവോസി

(Laozi എന്ന താളിൽ നിന്നും തിരിച്ചുവിട്ടതു പ്രകാരം)

പുരാതനചൈനയിലെ ദാർശനികനായിരുന്നു ലാവോസി. ചൈനയിലെ ഗൗതമബുദ്ധൻ എന്നും ലാവോസി അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു. താവോയിസത്തിലെ കേന്ദ്രവ്യക്തിത്വമാണ്‌ അദ്ദേഹം. മുതിർന്ന അദ്ധ്യാപകൻ എന്നർത്ഥം വരുന്ന ലാവോസി അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ യഥാർത്ഥ നാമമല്ലെന്നും ബഹുമാനാർത്ഥം ഉപയോഗിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതാണെന്നുമാണ്‌ കരുതപ്പെടുന്നത്. താവോയിസത്തിന്റെ ദാർശനികരൂപങ്ങളിൽ അദ്ദേഹം വിവേകിയായ ഒരു സാധാരണ മനുഷ്യനായാണ്‌ കരുതപ്പെടുന്നതെങ്കിലും താവോ മതത്തിൽ അദ്ദേഹം ദൈവമായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. ബുദ്ധനെ സാധാരണ മനുഷ്യനായും ദൈവമായും കണക്കാക്കുന്നതിന്‌ സമാനമാണിത്[1]. താവോ മതത്തിൽ മൂന്ന് വിശുദ്ധന്മാരിലൊരാൾ എന്നർത്ഥം വരുന്ന തൈഷാങ് ലാവോജുൻ എന്ന പേരിലും ലാവോസി അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു.

ക്രിസ്തുവിനു മുമ്പ് ആറാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിൽ ജീവിച്ചിരുന്ന ഒരു വ്യക്തിയാണ്‌ അദ്ദേഹം എന്നാണ്‌ ചൈനയിൽ പരമ്പരാഗതമായി കരുതിവരുന്നത്. എന്നാൽ ഒന്നിലധികം യഥാർത്ഥവ്യക്തികൾ ചേർന്നുള്ള സങ്കല്പമാണ്‌ ലാവോസി, അദ്ദേഹം ഒരു പുരാണകഥാപാത്രമാണ്‌, ക്രിസ്തുവിനു മുമ്പ് നാലാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിൽ ജീവിച്ചിരുന്ന വ്യക്തിയാണ്‌ എന്നിങ്ങനെ വിവിധ അഭിപ്രായങ്ങൾ ചരിത്രകാരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിലുണ്ട്. ചൈനീസ് സംസ്കാരത്തിലെ കേന്ദ്രവ്യക്തിത്വമായ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പാരമ്പര്യം സമൂഹത്തിലെ കുലീനരും സാധാരണക്കാരും ഒരുപോലെ അവകാശപ്പെടുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പിൻഗാമിയായി കണക്കാക്കുന്ന സുവാങ്സി ചൈനയുടെ സാഹിത്യത്തിലും സംസ്കാരത്തിലും ആത്മീയതയിലും നിർണ്ണായകപ്രഭാവം ചെലുത്തി. ചരിത്രത്തിലിങ്ങോളം സ്വേച്ഛാധിപത്യഭരണങ്ങൾക്കെതിരെയുണ്ടായ പ്രസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ആശയങ്ങളെ പിൻപറ്റിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. താവോമതത്തിന്റെ പ്രാമാണികഗ്രന്ഥമായ താവോ-തെയിങ് ഒറ്റ രാത്രികൊണ്ടാണ് അദ്ദേഹം രചിച്ചത്[2].
