സ്റ്റാലിങ് കുടുംബത്തിൽപ്പെട്ട ഒരു പക്ഷിയാണ് ചാരത്തലച്ചിക്കാളി - Chestnut-tailed Starling - Grey-headed Myna. (ശാസ്ത്രീയനാമം: Sturnia malabarica).[2]

ഈ പക്ഷി തദ്ദേശവാസിയോ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഭാഗികമായി ദേശാടനം നടത്തുന്നവയൊ ആണ്. ഇവയ്ക്ക് രണ്ടു ഉപവിഭാഗങ്ങളുണ്ട്.
വിവരണം തിരുത്തുക
ഇവയ്ക്ക് 20 സെ.മീ നീളമുണ്ട്. ചാരനിറത്തിലുള്ള മുകൾവശവും അടിവശം ചെമ്പിച്ചതുമാണ്. വെള്ള വരകളുള്ള ഇളം ചാര നിറത്തിലാണ് തല. മഞ്ഞ കൊക്കിന്റെ കടഭാഗം മങ്ങിയ നീലയാണ്. ഇഅവ് കൂട്ടമായാണ് പറക്കുന്നത്. പറക്കുന്നതിനിടയിൽ പെട്ടെന്ന് ദിശമാറ്റും.
ഭക്ഷണം തിരുത്തുക
പഴങ്ങളും തേനും പ്രാണികളും ഭക്ഷണമാണ്.
പ്രജനനം തിരുത്തുക
തുറന്ന കൃഷിയിടങ്ങളിൽ കാണുന്നു. പൊത്തുകളിലാണ് കൂട് ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നത്. 3-5 മുട്ടകളിടും.
