മൈസൂരിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ രണ്ടാമത്തെ കൊട്ടാരമാണ് ലളിത മഹൽ. ഇന്ത്യൻ സംസ്ഥാനമായ കർണാടകയിലെ മൈസൂർ നഗരത്തിന് കിഴക്കായി ചാമുണ്ഡി കുന്നുകൾക്ക് സമീപമാണ് ഇത് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. മൈസൂർ മഹാരാജാവായിരുന്ന കൃഷ്ണരാജ വോഡയാർ നാലാമന്റെ കൽപ്പന പ്രകാരം 1921-ൽ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ വൈസ്രോയിയുടെ താമസത്തിനായി നിർമ്മിച്ചതാണ് ഈ കൊട്ടാരം.[1] ലണ്ടൻ സെന്റ് പോൾസ് കത്തീഡ്രലിന്റെ മാതൃകയിലാണ് ഈ കൊട്ടാരം നിർമ്മിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. മൈസൂർ നഗരത്തിന്റെ ഗംഭീരമായ നിർമിതികളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് ഇത്.[2][3][4][5]

ഭംഗിയുള്ള കൊട്ടാരം ശുദ്ധമായ വെള്ള നിറത്തിലാണ് ചായം പിടിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. 1974-ൽ ഇതൊരു ഹെറിറ്റേജ് ഹോട്ടലാക്കി മാറ്റി.[6] 2018-ൽ കർണാടക സർക്കാരിന്റെ ഒരു യൂണിറ്റിലേക്ക് മാറ്റുന്നതുവരെ ഇന്ത്യാ ഗവൺമെന്റിന്റെ കീഴിലുള്ള ഇന്ത്യാ ടൂറിസം ഡെവലപ്‌മെന്റ് കോർപ്പറേഷന്റെ (ITDC) അശോക് ഗ്രൂപ്പിന്റെ ഭാഗമായാണ് ഇത് പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരുന്നത്.[7]എന്നിരുന്നാലും, കൊട്ടാരത്തിന്റെ യഥാർത്ഥ രാജകീയ അന്തരീക്ഷത്തിന്റെ ഒരു വെനീർ പരിപാലിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.[1][3][8]
