രക്ഷാകർതൃപരിപാലനം

ചില ജന്തുക്കളിൽ കാണപ്പെടുന്ന സ്വഭാവപരവും പരിണാമപരവുമായ തന്ത്രങ്ങളാണ് രക്ഷാകർതൃ പരിപാലനം അഥവാ (Parental care). തങ്ങളുടെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളിൽ പരിണാമപരമായ സന്തുലിതാവസ്ഥയിലേയ്ക്ക് തങ്ങളുടെ രക്ഷാകർത്തൃനിക്ഷേപം നടത്തുന്നു. വളരെ കുറച്ച് എണ്ണമുള്ള തങ്ങളുടെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങൾ വിരുദ്ധമായ സാഹചര്യങ്ങൾ മറികടന്ന് നിലനിൽക്കാൻ അവരെ പ്രാപ്തരാക്കുവാൻ രക്ഷാകർത്താക്കൾ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നു. ഇതിനു വിപരീതമായി അനേകം ചെറിയ മുട്ടകൾ ഉത്പാദിപ്പിച്ചശേഷം മാതാവ് അവിടം വിട്ടുപോകുന്നു. വിരിയുന്ന കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങൾ സ്വയം രക്ഷാകർത്താവിന്റെ സഹായമില്ലാതെ അതിജീവനം നടത്തുന്നു.
