മുഴയൻ താറാവ്
വലിയ വാത്തയുടെയത്രയും വലിപ്പമുള്ള ഒരു താറാവിനമാണ് മുഴയൻ താറാവ്[1] [2][3][4] (ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്: Comb Duck/Knob-billed duck ശാസ്ത്രീയനാമം: Sarkidiornis melanotos ) ഇന്ത്യയിലെ മിക്ക സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലുമുള്ള തടാകങ്ങളിലും ചതുപ്പ് നിലങ്ങളിലും കാണപ്പെടുന്നു.
ആൺതാറാവുകളുടെ കൊക്കിനു മുകളിലൊരു തടിച്ച മുഴ കാണാം. തിളക്കമുള്ള കറുത്ത തൂവലുകളാണ് ഇവയുടെ ശരീരത്തിന്റെ മുകൾ ഭാഗത്തുള്ളത്. തലയുംകഴുത്തും അടിഭാഗവും വെളുത്തതായിരിക്കും. തലയിലും കഴുത്തിലും പുള്ളികുത്തുകൾ കാണാം. കാലുകൾക്ക് കറുത്ത നിറമാണ്. പെൺ‌താറാവുകൾ ഒരു സമയം 12 മുട്ടകൾ വരെയിടും.[5]
ശബ്ദം കുറവുണ്ടാക്കുന്ന പക്ഷികളാണ്. മനുഷ്യരിൽ നിന്ന് അകലെ നിൽക്കാനാണ് ഇഷ്ടം. [6]
കൊമ്പൻ താറാവ് എന്നും അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു.[7]
