മലബാർ ബലൂൺ തവള
പശ്ചിമഘട്ടതദ്ദേശവാസിയായ ഒരു തവളയാണ് മലബാർ ബലൂൺ തവള അഥവാ Malabar Balloon Frog. (ശാസ്ത്രീയനാമം: Uperodon triangularis). ഐ യു സി എൻ പട്ടികപ്രകാരമുള്ള പരിപാലന സ്ഥിതി വംശനാശ സാദ്ധ്യതയുള്ള ജീവികൾ എന്നാണ്.[2] ഇവ മരപ്പൊത്തുകളിൽ ശേഖരിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന വെള്ളത്തിലാണ് മുട്ടയിടുന്നത്.[3] ആണുങ്ങളുടെ ഇണയെ ആകർഷിക്കാനുള്ള വിളികൾ 0.38 സെക്കന്റ് ദൈർഘ്യമുള്ള 30 പൾസുകളാണ്. ഇവയുടെ ആവൃത്തി 0.6 മുതൽ 1.1 കിലോഹെർട്‌സ് വരെയാണ്. ഓരോ മൂന്നു സെക്കന്റുകൂടുമ്പോഴും ഈ ശബ്ദമുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു.[4]
