പൊടിച്ചിലപ്പൻ
പൊടിച്ചിലപ്പന്റെ[2] [3][4][5] ആംഗലത്തിലെ പേര് Dark-fronted Babbler എന്നാണ് ശാസ്ത്രീയ നാമം Rhopocichla atriceps എന്നാണ്. ഇവ പശ്ചിമഘട്ടത്തിലും ശ്രീലങ്കയിലും കാണുന്നു.

തവിട്ടുനിറമുള്ള ഈ പക്ഷിയുടെ തൊപ്പി കറുത്തതാണ്. വെളുത്ത അടിവശവും മഞ്ഞകണ്ണുകളും ഉണ്ട്. അടിക്കാടുകളിൽ കൂട്ടമായാണ് ഇരതേടുന്നത്. തുടർച്ചയായി ശബ്ദം ഉണ്ടാക്കികൊണ്ടിരിക്കും. [6]
വിവരണംതിരുത്തുക
ഇവയ്ക്ക് 13 സെ.മീ നീളമുണ്ട്. വാലിന്റെ അറ്റം ചതുരാകൃതിയാണ്. ഇളം മഞ്ഞ കണ്ണുകളാണ്. പശ്ചിമഘട്ടത്തിൽ രണ്ട് ഉപവിഭാഗങ്ങളുണ്ട്.
തിങ്ങി നിറഞ്ഞ ചെടികൾക്കിടയിൽ ഇവയെ കണ്ടുപിടിക്കുക എളുപ്പമല്ല. എപ്പോഴും ചിലച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ഇവയെ ശബ്ദംകൊണ്ട് തിരിച്ചറിയാം. [7] മറ്റു പക്ഷികളുമായി കൂട്ടംചേർന്ന് ഇരതേടാറുണ്ട്.[8]
പ്രജനനംതിരുത്തുക
പ്രജനന കാലം മെയ് മുതൽ ജൂലൈ വരെയാണ്. കുറ്റിച്ചെടികളിൽ താഴെഭാഗത്ത് ഇലകൾക്കൊണ്ട് പന്തുപോലെയുള്ള കൂട് ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു.ഇതു കണ്ടാൽ കുറ്റിച്ചെടിയിൽ ഇല തങ്ങിയിരിക്കുകയാണേന്നെ തോന്നൂ.[9] രണ്ടു മുട്ടകളാണ് ഇടുന്നത്.[10][11][12]
