റോസ് മൈന
പന്തിക്കാളിയ്ക്ക് ‘‘’റോസ് മൈന’’’[2] [3][4][5] എന്ന പേരുകൂടിയുണ്ട്. ഈ പക്ഷിയ്ക്ക് ഇംഗ്ലീഷിൽ Rosy Starling , Rose-coloured Starling അല്ലെങ്കിൽ Rose-coloured Pastor.[6] എന്നാണ് പേര്. ശാസ്ത്രീയ നാമം Pastor roseus എന്നാണ്. [6] ഇതൊരു ദേശാടനം നടത്തുന്ന പക്ഷിയാണ്. ആധുനിക പഠനത്തിനു ശേഷം ഇവയെ Sturnus എന്ന ജനുസ്സിൽ നിന്നു മാറ്റി Pastor എന്ന സ്വന്ത ജനുസ്സാക്കി. [7]

വിവരണം തിരുത്തുക
പിങ്കു നിറത്തിലുള്ള ശരീരം. മങ്ങിയ ഓറഞ്ചു നിറത്തിലുള്ള കൊക്കും കാലും. തിളങ്ങുന്ന കറുത്ത നിറത്തിലുള്ള തല, ചിറകുകൾ, വാൽ.
ഭക്ഷണം തിരുത്തുക
എല്ലാതരം ഭക്ഷണവും കഴിക്കുമെങ്കിലും പ്രാണികളാണ് ഇഷ്ട ഭക്ഷണം. ചൈനയിൽ കൃത്രിമ കൂടൊരുക്കി ഇവയെ ആകർഷിച്ച് വെട്ടുകിളിയെ നേരിടുന്നുണ്ട്.[8]
പ്രജനനം തിരുത്തുക
യൂറോപ്പിന്റെ കിഴക്കേ അറ്റം മുതൽ തെക്കേ ഏഷ്യ വരെയാണ് പ്രജനന സ്ഥലം. [1] വലിയ കൂട്ടങ്ങളായാണ് സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നത്. കേരളത്തിൽ ഇവയെ തുറന്ന കൃഷിസ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ കാണുന്നു.
