ഓർക്കിഡ് കുടുംബത്തിൽ (ഓർക്കിഡേസി) നിന്നുള്ള ഒരു അധിസസ്യം ആണ് ഗോസ്റ്റ് ഓർക്കിഡ് എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ഡെൻഡ്രോഫിലാക്സ് ലിൻഡേനി. ഫ്ലോറിഡ, ബഹാമസ്, ക്യൂബ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലെ തദ്ദേശവാസിയായ ഇതിന്റെ[1][3] മറ്റ് പൊതുവായ പേരുകൾ പാം പോളി, വൈറ്റ് ഫ്രോഗ് ഓർക്കിഡ് എന്നിവയാണ്.

തിരുത്തുക1844-ൽ ക്യൂബയിൽ വച്ച് ആദ്യമായി ഈ ഓർക്കിഡ് കണ്ടെത്തിയ ബെൽജിയൻ പ്ലാന്റ് കളക്ടർ ജീൻ ജൂൾസ് ലിൻഡനിൽ നിന്നാണ് "ലിൻഡേനി" എന്ന ഇതിന്റെ പ്രത്യേക വിശേഷണം ഉരുത്തിരിഞ്ഞത്. പിന്നീട് ഫ്ലോറിഡയിലെ എവർഗ്ലേഡിലും ഈ സസ്യത്തെ കണ്ടെത്തിയിരുന്നു.
