ഗണ്ണിസൺ നദി

ഗണ്ണിസൺ നദി അമേരിക്കൻ ഐക്യനാടുകളിലെ പടിഞ്ഞാറൻ കൊളറാഡോയിലൂടെ ഒഴുകുന്ന കൊളറാഡോ നദിയുടെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ പോഷകനദികളിൽ ഒന്നാണ്. കിഴക്ക് നിന്ന് പടിഞ്ഞാറ് ദിശയിൽ ഒഴുകുന്ന 180 മൈൽ നീളമുള്ള (290 കി.മീ) ഈ നദിയ്ക്ക്, USGS യുടെ കണക്കുകൾ പ്രകാരം 7,923 ചതുരശ്ര മൈൽ (20,520 ചതുരശ്ര കിലോമീറ്റർ) വിസ്തീർണ്ണമുള്ള നീർത്തടപ്രദേശമുണ്ട്. ഗണ്ണിസൺ നദിയുടെ നീർത്തട പ്രദേശം കോണ്ടിനെന്റൽ ഡിവിഡിനോട് ചേർന്നുള്ള വനങ്ങളും ആൽപൈൻ പുൽമേടുകളും പോലുള്ള വിവിധ ആവാസവ്യവസ്ഥകളിൽ നിന്ന് ജലം ഉൾക്കൊള്ളുന്നു. നദി പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ട് ഒഴുകുന്നത്, സാൻ ജുവാൻ പർവതനിരകളെ കാർന്നെടുത്തുകൊണ്ടാണ്. ഇത് ഗ്രാൻഡ് ജംഗ്ഷനിൽവച്ച് കൊളറാഡോ നദിയിലേക്ക് പതിക്കുന്നു.
