ആന്ത്രോപിക് ഏകകങ്ങൾ (അളവെടുപ്പ്)
അളവെടുപ്പിനായി[1] ഉപയോഗിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന മനുഷ്യശരീരവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട ഏകകങ്ങളാണ് ആന്ത്രോപിക് ഏകകങ്ങൾ എന്ന് പറയുന്നത്[2]. വിരൽ, കൈ, ചാൺ, അംഗുലം എന്നിങ്ങനെ തുടങ്ങി ഒട്ടുമിക്ക അളവെടുപ്പ് ഏകകങ്ങളും ആന്ത്രോപിക് ഏകകങ്ങളായിരുന്നു എന്ന് കാണാം. ആധുനികകാലത്ത് ഏകകങ്ങളുടെ സ്റ്റാൻഡേർഡൈസേഷൻ നടക്കുന്നത് വരെയും ഇതായിരുന്നു അവസ്ഥ. ഏകീകരണം നടന്നിട്ടും പല ഏകകങ്ങളുടെയും അടിസ്ഥാനം ഇപ്പോഴും അങ്ങനെത്തന്നെ തുടരുന്നു.
അളവെടുപ്പ് കൂടാതെ പുരാവസ്തുശാസ്ത്രത്തിലും[3] സാമൂഹിക പഠനത്തിലും[4][5] ആന്ത്രോപിക് യൂണിറ്റ് എന്ന വാക്ക് വ്യത്യസ്ത അർത്ഥങ്ങളോടെ ഉപയോഗിക്കപ്പെടുന്നുണ്ട്. മനുഷ്യൻ എന്നർത്ഥം വരുന്ന ആന്ത്രോപോസ് എന്ന ഗ്രീക്ക് പദത്തിൽ നിന്നാണ് ആന്ത്രോപിക് എന്നത് ഉരുത്തിരിഞ്ഞത്.
