അസുരക്കിളിയുടെ[2] [3][4][5] ഇംഗ്ലീഷിലെ പേര് bay-backed shrike എന്നും ശാസ്ത്രീയ നാമം Lanius vittatus എന്നുമാണ്. ഈ പക്ഷി തെക്കേ ഏഷ്യയിലെ തദ്ദേശ വാസിയാണ്.

17 സെ.മീ. നീളമുണ്ട്. കരിംചുവപ്പൂകലർന്ന തവിട്ടു നിറമാണ് മുകൾഭാഗത്തിന്. അടിവശം വെള്ളയാണ്. വാലിന് കറുപ്പു നിറമാണ്. [6]കണ്ണിനു ചുറ്റും കറുത്ത മുഖംമൂടിയുണ്ട്. കലും കൊക്കും കടുത്ത ചാരനിറമാണ്..[6] പിടയും പൂവനും കാഴ്ചയ്ക്ക് ഒരു പോലെയാണ്.[6]

കുറ്റിക്കാടുകളിലാണ് ഇര തേടുന്നത്. പല്ലികൾ. വലിയ പ്രാണികൾ, ചെറിയ പക്ഷികൾ എന്നിവയാണ് ഭക്ഷണം. .[6]

പ്രജനനം

അഫ്ഘാനിസ്ഥാൻ, പാകിസ്താൻ, ഇന്ത്യ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ പ്രജനനം നടത്തുന്നു. 3-5 മുട്ടകളിടും.[7]
