മുൻകാലജീവിതം തിരുത്തുക

നായിക് ഒരു ഗുജറാത്തിയാണ് . ഗുജറാത്തിലെ അദ്ധ്യാപകരുടെ കുടുംബത്തിലാണ് അദ്ദേഹം ജനിച്ചത്, ഗുജറാത്തി ഭാഷയിൽ മാസ്റ്റർ കുട്ടുംബ് എന്നും അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു. [9] [5] മുംബൈയിലെ ഒരു പബ്ലിക് സ്കൂളിൽ പഠിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്ന പിതാവ്, ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളെ പുനരുജ്ജീവിപ്പിക്കാനുള്ള മഹാത്മാഗാന്ധിയുടെ ആഹ്വാനത്തിന് ചെവികൊടുത്തു, ഒപ്പം കുടുംബത്തോടൊപ്പം ജന്മനാട്ടിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങാൻ തീരുമാനിച്ചു. വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം പൂർത്തിയാക്കിയശേഷം അദ്ദേഹം മുകുന്ദ് അയൺ & സ്റ്റീൽ വർക്സ് ലിമിറ്റഡ് എന്ന കമ്പനിയിൽ ജോലിചെയ്യുന്ന വിരെൻ ജെ ഷായെ പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന പിതാവിന്റെ ഒരു കുറിപ്പുമായി മുംബൈ പോയി. തന്റെ എൻജിനീയറിങ് പ്രോഗ്രാം അപേക്ഷിക്കാൻ ആയിരുന്നു യാത്ര. ഇംഗ്ലീഷിൽ പ്രാവീണ്യം ഇല്ലാത്തതിനാൽ പേഴ്‌സണൽ മാനേജർ അദ്ദേഹത്തോട് ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് മെച്ചപ്പെടുത്താൻ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. അതിനാൽ നായിക് തന്റെ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് കഴിവുകളിൽ പ്രവർത്തിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങി. ഇതിനിടയിൽ, പാർസിയുടെ ഉടമസ്ഥതയിലുള്ള സ്ഥാപനമായ നെസ്റ്റർ ബോയിലറുകളിൽ അദ്ദേഹം ചേർന്നു. 1965 മാർച്ച് 15 ന് നായിക് ജൂനിയർ എഞ്ചിനീയറായി എൽ ആൻഡ് ടിയിൽ ചേർന്നു. [14] അതിവേഗം ഉയർച്ചയുണ്ടായി. ചേർന്ന മൂന്ന് വർഷവും 15 ദിവസവും തികഞ്ഞപ്പോഴെക്കും അസിസ്റ്റന്റ് മാനേജരായി അദ്ദേഹത്തെ നിയമിച്ചു - അത് എൽ ആൻഡ് ടിയിലെ റെക്കോർഡ് ആണ്.
