യസീദി മതത്തിന്റെ വേരുകൾ പണ്ട തൊട്ടേ ഉള്ളതാണെങ്കിലും അവരുടെ ശക്തി പ്രാപിച്ച കാലഘട്ടം ഇസ്ലാം മതത്തിന് ശേഷമാണ്. യസീദ്ബ്നു മുആവിയയുടെ അനുയായി പരമ്പരയിൽ പെട്ടവരാണ് ഇപ്പോഴത്തേ യസീദികൾഎന്ന തെറ്റിദ്ധാരണ നിലനിൽക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ഇസ്ലാം മതവിശ്വാസിയായി ജനിച്ച ഷെയ്ഖ് ആദിയാണവരുടെ പുണ്യ നേതാവ് എന്നും അവർ അനുമാനിക്കുന്നു

മുഹമ്മദ്‌ നബിയുടെ മുമ്പ് തന്നെ സെമിറ്റിക് മതങ്ങളുമായി ബന്ധം ഉള്ള ഒരു സംസ്കാരം ആണ്. കുർദി ഭാഷയിൽ യെസ്ദാൻ എന്ന അവരുടെ പ്രാചീന ദൈവ സങ്കൽപത്തിൽ നിന്നാണ് യാസീദി എന്ന പേര് ഉണ്ടായത് സെമിറ്റിക് മതങ്ങളെക്കാൾ ഹിന്ദു സൗരഷ്ട്ര മതങ്ങളോട് ആചാരത്തിൽ ബന്ധം ഉള്ള യസീദികൾ ഒരിക്കലും യസീദി bin muaaviya യുടെ അനുയായികൾ അല്ല. അതിപ്രാചീന മെസപ്പോട്ടെമിയൻ സംസ്കാരം ആണ് അവർ പിന്തുടരുന്നത്

കൃസ്ത്യൻ മുസ്ലിം വിശ്വാസത്തിലെ പിശാചാണവരുടെ മതത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ദൈവികതയുള്ള ആൾ. തെറ്റ് ചെയ്ത പിശാചിന് പശ്ചാത്താപം തോന്നി എന്നവർ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു. ദൈവമയാളെ ഉയർത്തുമെന്നവർ പറയുന്നു. ആയതിനാൽ സാത്താൻ ആരാധകരാണവരെന്ന് കൃസ്തു, മുസ്ലിം ജൂത വിഭാഗം പറയുന്നു.

സൊറോസ്ട്രിയൻ മതത്തിനോട് സാമ്യമുള്ള ഒരു മധ്യപൂർവേഷ്യൻ മതവിഭാഗമാണ് യസീദി (യെസീഡിസ് എന്നും എഴുതപ്പെടുന്നു; (/jəˈziːdiːz/ ⓘ,[32] കുർദിഷ്: ئێزیدی/Ezîdî[33][34]) ഇറാഖ്-സിറിയ, തുർക്കി അതിർത്തിയിലാണ് ഈ വിഭാഗം പ്രധാനമായും വസിക്കുന്നത്. ഇവരെ പ്രധാനമായും കുർദ് വംശജരായി കരുതപ്പെടുന്നെങ്കിലും യസീദികളിൽ ഭൂരിപക്ഷവും കുർദ് ഭാഷാ വകഭേദമായ കുർമാഞ്ചിയും അതുപോലെ അറബിയും സംസാരിക്കുന്നവരുണ്ട്. എന്നാൽ ഇവർ യഥാർഥത്തിൽ സൊറാഷ്ട്രിയൻ മതവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടവരല്ല.ഏകദൈവ വിശ്വാസത്തിലധിഷ്ടിതമായ യസീദി മതത്തന്റെ വേരുകൾ പുരാതന മെസൊപ്പൊട്ടേമിയൻ മതങ്ങളിലേക്കു[35] നീളുന്നതായി കണ്ടെത്താനാകും. ഇതിന് അബ്രഹാമിക് മതങ്ങളുമായി ചില സാമ്യതകളുമുണ്ട്.[36][37] യസീദികൾക്ക് അവരുടേതായ സ്വതന്ത്ര സംസ്കാരമുണ്ട്. ഇന്ൻ പശ്ചിമേഷ്യയിൽ അവശേഷിക്കുന്ന യസീദികളിൽ ഭൂരിപക്ഷവും ഇറാക്കിലെ നിനവേ, ദോഹുക് പ്രവിശ്യകളിലാണ് താമസിക്കുന്നത്.[38][39] അർമേനിയ, ജോർജിയ, ടർക്കി, ഇറാൻ, സിറിയ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ ഇവർ താമസമുണ്ട്. ജർമനിയിലെയ്ക്ക് 1990കളിൽ ഇവർ വളരെയധികം പേർ താമസം മാറിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.


യസീദികൾ ഏകദൈവവിശ്വാസികൾ ആകുന്നു.[40] ദൈവത്തെ ലോകസ്രഷ്ടാവായി കരുതുന്നു. ദൈവത്തെ ഏഴു വിശുദ്ധ വ്യക്തികൾ പരിപാലിക്കുന്നതായി അവർ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.[41] ഈ ഏഴു പരിപാലകരുടെ നേതാവ്, മെലെക് താവൂസ് എന്ന മയിൽ മാലഖയാകുന്നു. ഈ മയിൽ മാലഖയാണ് ലോകത്തിന്റെ ഭരണാധികാരി. വീണുപോയ വ്യക്തികൾക്ക് നന്മയും തിന്മയും ഈ മയിൽ മാലാഖ വിധിക്കുന്നു. ഈ പ്രധാന വ്യക്തി ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്ഥനത്തുനിന്നും നന്മ തിന്മകളുടെ ഏറ്റക്കുറച്ചിൽ മൂലം നിപതിച്ചതാണ്. ഈ വീഴ്ച്ച തത്കാലികമാണ്. തന്റെ പശ്ചാത്താപത്തിന്റെ കണ്ണുനീർ നരകജയിലിന്റെ തീയണയ്ക്കുകയും അങ്ങനെ ദൈവവുമായി ചേരുകയും ചെയ്യും എന്നൊക്കെയാണ് അവരുടെ വിശ്വാസം. സുഫി മിസ്റ്റിക് വിശ്വാസത്തിലുള്ള ഇബ്ലീസ് ദൈവാജ്ഞ ധിക്കരിച്ച് ആദമിനെ വണങ്ങാതിരുന്നു. സൂഫി വിശ്വാസത്തിലെ ഈ ഇബ്ലീസ് ബന്ധം മറ്റു ഏകദൈവമതങ്ങളിലെ ചിലർ ഈ മയിൽ ദേവതയെ സാത്താനോട് ഉപമിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ഇക്കാരണത്താൽ യസീദികളെ സാത്താന്റെ ആരാധകരായി കണക്കാക്കി അവരെ ഇറാക്കിലേയും മറ്റും തീവ്രമതവിശ്വാസികൾ പീഠിപ്പിച്ചുവരുന്നു.

2014 ആഗസ്തോടെ ശുദ്ധീകരണം എന്ന പേരിൽ ഇസ്ലാമിക് സ്റ്റെറ്റ് ഓഫ് ഇറാക്ക് ആൻഡ് ദ ലവന്റ് യസീദികളെപ്പോലുള്ള വിഭാഗങ്ങളെ ആക്രമണലക്ഷ്യമാക്കി മാറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നു. [46][47]

ജനസംഖ്യാ വിതരണം

ഇന്നത്തെ ഇറാക്ക്, ടർക്കി, സിറിയ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ കൂട്തൽപേർ താമസിക്കുന്നു. അർമീനിയ, ജോർജിയ, ഇറാൻ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ വലിയ സംഖ്യ യസീദികൾ വസിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ഇരുപതാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിലെ പല പ്രധാന സംഭവങ്ങളും പ്രത്യേകിച്ചും രാഷ്ട്രീയമാറ്റങ്ങളും കലാപങ്ങളും യെസീദികളുടെ ദേശാന്തരഗമനത്തിനു കാരണമായിട്ടുണ്ട്. ആയതിനാൽ കൃത്യമായ ഇവരുടെ ജനസംഖ്യാ കണക്കെടുപ്പ് സാദ്ധ്യമല്ലാതായിത്തീർന്നിട്ടുണ്ട്.

ഇറാക്കിലാണ് ഇന്നും യസീദികളുടെ ജനസഖ്യ സ്ഥായിയായി നിലനിൽക്കുന്നത്. 70000നും 500000നും ഇടയിൽ അവരുണ്ടെന്നു കണക്കാക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഉത്തര ഇറാക്കിലെ നനവേ പ്രവിശ്യയിലാണിവർ കൂടുതൽ താമസിക്കുന്നത്. 2003ലെ ഇറാക്ക് യുദ്ധവും സദ്ദാം ഹുസൈന്റെ ഭരണമാറ്റവും അവരെ കാര്യമായി ബാധിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

സിറിയയിലെ ഇവരുടെ എണ്ണം അനിശ്ചിതമാണ്. 1963ൽ ഇവിടത്തെ ദേശിയ കണക്കെടുപ്പു പ്രകാരം 10000 പേർ ഉണ്ടെന്നു കണ്ടെത്തി. ഇന്ന് 12000 മുതൽ 15000 പേർ വരെ ഉണ്ടാകാൻ സാദ്ധ്യത കാണുന്നുണ്ട്. 50000 പേരാണ് ഇറാക്ക് യുദ്ധത്തിൽ അഭയാർഥികളായി ഇറാക്ക് വിട്ട് സിറിയയിലെത്തിയത്.

1982ൽ 30000 പേർ ടർക്കിയിലുണ്ടായിരുന്നത്, 2009ൽ 500 പേർ മാത്രമായി. മിക്ക ടർക്കിയിലെ യസീദികളും യൂറോപ്പിലേയ്ക്കു പ്രത്യേകിച്ചു ജർമനിയിലേയ്ക്കു, പലായനം ചെയ്യുകയാണുണ്ടായത്. 1990നു മുൻപ് ജോർജിയയിൽ 30000 പേർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നത് 5000 പേർ മാത്രമായി. അർമേനിയായിൽ പക്ഷെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന യസീദികളുടെ എണ്ണം 40000 ആയിത്തന്നെ നിലനിൽക്കുന്നു. ഇവരിൽ പലരും റഷ്യയിലെയ്ക്കു പോയത്തായി കണ്ടെത്തി. 2002ലെ സെൻസസ് പ്രകാരം റഷ്യയിൽ 31273 യസിദികൾ ഉണ്ടെന്നാണു കണക്ക്.

ഈ കൂട്ടപാലായനം യസീദികളുടെ പ്രവാസ സംഖ്യ കൂട്ടി. ജർമനിയിൽ മാത്രം 100000 യസീദികൾ ജീവിക്കുന്നു. ടർക്കിയിൽ നിന്നും ഇറാക്കിൽ നിന്നും വന്നവരാണിവരിൽ ഭൂരിപക്ഷവും. സ്വീഡനിൽ 4000 പേർ ഇന്ന് താമസമാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. നെതെർലാന്റ്, ബെൽജിയം, ഡെന്മാർക്ക്, ഫ്രാൻസ്, സ്വിറ്റ്സർലാന്റ്, യു. കെ., യു. എസ്., കാനഡ, ഓസ്ട്രേലിയ എന്നിവീടങ്ങളിൽ 5000ൽപ്പരം യസിദികൾ വസിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. എങ്കിലും എസിദികൾ തങ്ങളുറ്റെ മതവിസ്വാസത്തെ മുറുകെപ്പിടിക്കുന്നതിന് വലിയ വിലകൊടുക്കേണ്ടിവരുന്നുണ്ട്.

ഇവരുടെ ഭൂരിപക്ഷപ്രദേശമായ സിഞ്ചാർ ഐ എസ് തീവ്രവാദികൽ പിടിച്ചെറ്റുത്തതിന്റെ ഫലമായി 50000പരം യസിദികൾ അവിടെനിന്നും പലായനം ചെയ്ത് യാതൊരു അടിസ്ഥാന സൗകര്യങ്ങളുമില്ലാത്ത മലനിരകളിൽ വസിക്കാനിടവന്നിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇത് അവരുടെ വലിയതോതിലുള്ള നാശത്തിനിടയാക്കി. ഈ അവസ്ഥ അന്താരാശ്ട്ര മാദ്ധ്യമങ്ങൾ പുറത്തുവീറ്റുകയും ഈ സാഹചര്യങ്ങളെ നേരിടാൻ അമേരിക്ക ഓസ്ട്രേലിയ തുടങ്ങിയ രാജ്യങ്ങൾ അവരെ സഹായിക്കാൻ രംഗത്തുവരികയുമുണ്ടായിട്ടുണ്ട്. കുർദിഷ് പട്ടാളവും അവരെ ഇവിടെനിന്നും രക്ഷനേടുവാൻ സഹായിച്ചു.
