ഹോറസ്

പുരാതന ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽ ആരാധിച്ചിരുന്ന ഒരു സുപ്രധാന ദേവനാണ് ഹോറസ്. പ്രീഹിസ്റ്റോറിക് ഈജിപ്ത് മുതൽക്കേ ടോളമിൿ സാമ്രാജ്യം, റോമൻ ഈജിപ്റ്റ് എന്നീ കാലഘട്ടങ്ങൾ വരെ ഹോറസ്സിന്റെ ആരാധന നിൽനിന്നിരുന്നു. ഹോറസ് ദേവന്റെ വിവിധ രൂപങ്ങൾ ചരിത്രത്തിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്, ഇവയെ വ്യത്യസ്ത ദൈവങ്ങളായാണ് ഈജിപ്റ്റോളജിസ്റ്റുകൾ കണക്കാക്കുന്നത്.[1] സാധാരണയായി ഹോറസ്സ് ദേവനെ ഒരു ഫാൽക്കണിന്റെ രൂപത്തിലാണ് ചിത്രീകരിക്കാറുള്ളത്. ഇതൊരുപക്ഷെ ലാന്നെർ ഫാൽക്കണോ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ പെറിഗ്രൈൻ ഫാൽക്കണോ ആയിരിക്കാം. ചിലപ്പോൾ ഫാൽക്കൺ ശിരസ്സോടുകൂടിയ മനുഷ്യരൂപത്തിലും ഹോറസ്സിനെ ചിത്രീകരിക്കാറുണ്ട്.[2]
