ഫോസിൽ രേഖകൾ തിരുത്തുക
ശിവാലിക്കിൽ നിന്ന് ലഭിച്ച Rourea miocaudata ഫോസിൽ നിലവിലുള്ള Rourea caudata സ്പീഷീസുമായി അടുത്ത സാമ്യം പുലർത്തുന്നുണ്ട്.[3] കൊണ്ണാരേസീ കുടുംബത്തിന്റെ ഫോസിൽ രേഖകൾ വളരെ കുറവ് മാത്രമേ കിട്ടിയിട്ടുള്ളൂ. വിശ്വസനീയമായ രേഖകൾ സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നത് ക്രിറ്റേഷ്യസ്-പാലിയോസീൻ കാലത്ത് തന്നെ ഈ സസ്യ കുടുംബം ആവിർഭവിക്കുകയും മയോസീൻ കാലത്തിന്റെ ആരംഭകാലത്ത് വ്യാപകമായി പരക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു എന്നാണ്.[4]
