ഹാസ്കെൽ ഇന്ത്യൻ നേഷൻസ് യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി കൻസാസിലെ ലോറൻസിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നതും അമേരിക്കൻ ഐക്യനാടുകളിലെ തദ്ദേശീയ അമേരിക്കൻ ഇന്ത്യൻ ആദിവാസികളിലെ അംഗങ്ങൾക്കായി ഫെഡറൽ സർക്കാരിനു കീഴിൽ[1] പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ട്രൈബൽ[2] യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയാണ്.

അമേരിക്കൻ ഇന്ത്യൻ കുട്ടികൾക്കായുള്ള ഒരു റെസിഡൻഷ്യൽ ബോർഡിങ് സ്കൂളായി[3] 1884 ൽ സ്ഥാപിതമായ ഈ സ്കൂൾ നോർത്ത്-സെൻട്രൽ അസോസിയേഷനിലെ അംഗീകാരമുള്ള യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയായി വികസിപ്പിച്ചെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇവിടെനിന്ന് തുല്യപദവിയുള്ളതും ഉന്നതവിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിനുളള സർവ്വകലാശാലാ ബിരുദങ്ങൾ ലഭിക്കുന്നു.[4] ക്യാമ്പസിൽ ഓരോ സെമസ്റ്ററിനും ഏകദേശം ആയിരത്തിലധികം വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾക്കു പ്രവേശനം നൽകുന്നു. ഇവർ ഏകദേശം 140 ഗോത്രവർഗ്ഗ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളെയും അലാസ്ക സ്വദേശികളായ സമൂഹത്തേയും പ്രതിനിധീകരിക്കുന്നു.[5]
അമേരിക്കൻ ഇന്ത്യൻ ഗോത്രങ്ങളോടുള്ള യു എസ് ട്രസ്റ്റിന്റെ ഉത്തരവാദിത്തത്തിൻറെ ഫലമായി ബ്യൂറോ ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യൻ എജ്യൂക്കേഷന് നേരിട്ടാണ് ഹാസ്കെലിലേയ്ക്ക് ഫണ്ട് അനുവദിച്ചിക്കുന്നത്.[6] ട്യൂഷൻ ഫീ ചാർജ് ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലായെങ്കിലും അർദ്ധവാർഷിക ഫീസ് അടയ്ക്കുന്നതിന് ഇവിടുത്തെ വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾക്ക് ഉത്തരവാദിത്തമുണ്ട്. [7] യുഎസ് ദേശീയ ചരിത്ര അടയാളങ്ങളായി പന്ത്രണ്ട് കാമ്പസ് കെട്ടിടങ്ങൾ നിർണ്ണയിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്.
ഹസ്കെൽ സാംസ്കാരിക കേന്ദ്രവും മ്യൂസിയവും,[8] അമേരിക്കൻ ഇന്ത്യൻ അത്‍ലറ്റിക് ഹാൾ ഓഫ് ഫെയിം,[9] രാജ്യത്തെ ഏറ്റവും പഴയ അമേരിക്കൻ ഇന്ത്യൻ വിദ്യാർത്ഥി പത്രമായ ‘ദ ഇന്ത്യൻ ലീഡർ’,[10] ഒട്ടനവധി വിദ്യാർത്ഥി ക്ലബ്ബുകളും സംഘടനകൾ [11] എന്നിവയുടെയെല്ലാം ആസ്ഥാനം ഹസ്കെൽ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി കാമ്പസ് ആണ്.
