ലിഥിയത്തിന്റെ ഒരു പ്രധാന അയിരാണ് സ്പൊഡുമീൻ. ലിഥിയം ക്ലോറൈഡ് ആക്കി മാറ്റിയ ശേഷം വൈദ്യുത വിശ്ലേഷണം വഴി ലിഥിയം വേർതിരിച്ചെടുക്കുന്നു.
