സോറ നീൽ ഹുർസ്റ്റൺ (ജനുവരി 7, 1891 [1][2] - ജനുവരി 28, 1960) ആഫ്രിക്കൻ-അമേരിക്കൻ സാഹിത്യത്തിൽ സ്വാധീനം ചെലുത്തിയ എഴുത്തുകാരിയും നരവംശശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞയുമായിരുന്നു. ഇരുപതാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിന്റെ തുടക്കത്തിൽ വംശീയപ്രക്ഷോഭങ്ങൾ ചിത്രീകരിക്കുകയും ഹെയ്തി വൂദൂവിനെക്കുറിച്ച് നടത്തിയ ഗവേഷണവും പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.[3] നാല് നോവലുകളും 50-ൽ അധികം പ്രസിദ്ധീകരണങ്ങളും നാടകങ്ങളും ഉപന്യാസങ്ങളുമൊക്കെ രചിച്ച ഹൂസ്റ്റന്റെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രശസ്തമായ കൃതി 1937-ലെ നോവൽ ദെയർ ഐസ് വെയർ വാച്ചിങ്ങ് ഗോഡ് (Their Eyes Were Watching God) ആയിരുന്നു.
