വിക്കി ബോം

ഹെഡ്വിഗ് (വിക്കി) ബോം (Hebrew: ויקי באום‎; ജനുവരി 24, 1888 - ആഗസ്റ്റ് 29, 1960) ഒരു ഓസ്ട്രിയൻ എഴുത്തുകാരി ആയിരുന്നു. മെൻഷെൻ ഇം ഹോട്ടൽ എന്ന നോവൽ അവരുടെ ആദ്യ അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര വിജയങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്ന് ആയി അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു. ("People at a Hotel", 1929 — ഗ്രാന്റ് ഹോട്ടൽ എന്ന പേരിൽ ഈ നോവൽ ഇംഗ്ലീഷിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കുകയുണ്ടായി). ഈ നോവൽ 1932 -ൽ നിർമ്മിക്കപ്പെട്ട ഒരു ചലച്ചിത്രവും 1989- ലെ ബ്രോഡ്വേ സംഗീതവുമായിരുന്നു.

വിയന്നയിൽ ബോം ജൂത കുടുംബത്തിൽ ജനിച്ചു. അമ്മ മതിൾഡേ (née ദോനത്ത്) വിക്കി ഒരു കുട്ടിയായിരുന്നപ്പോൾ തന്നെ സ്തനാർബുദത്തെ തുടർന്ന് മാനസികരോഗം മൂലം മരണമടയുകയുണ്ടായി. [1]പിതാവ് "ഒരു നിരപരാധിയും, ഇല്ലാത്ത കാര്യത്തെകുറിച്ച്‌ ചിന്തിച്ച്‌ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നവൻ ആയിരുന്നിട്ടും 1942- ൽ ഹുയാൻ അധിനിവേശത്തെ തുടർന്ന് നോവി സാഡ്ൽ ഹങ്കേറിയൻ അധിനിവേശത്തിന്റെ സൈനികരാൽ കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ട ഒരു ബാങ്ക് ക്ലാർക്കായിരുന്നു.[2] ഹാർപ്പ് വായിക്കുന്ന ഒരു സംഗീതജ്ഞ എന്ന നിലയിൽ അവർ കലാ ജീവിതം ആരംഭിച്ചു. വിയന്ന കൺസർവറേട്ടറിൽ പഠിച്ച അവർ വിയന്ന കൺസേർട്ട് സൊസൈറ്റിയിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. 1916-1923 വർഷങ്ങളിൽ ജർമ്മനിയിലെ കീൽ, ഹാന്നോവർ, മാൻഹൈം എന്നീ സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ അവർ സംഗീതപരിപാടികളിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കാൻ പോയിരുന്നു.

ബെർലിനറിലെ ഉൽ'സ്റ്റീൻ-വെർലാഗ് പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച ബെർലിനർ ഇല്ലസ്ട്രീറ്റ് സെയിടംഗ് എന്ന മാസികയുടെ പത്രപ്രവർത്തകയായി പിന്നീട് അവർ തുടർന്നു.[3]
