പ്രജനനം
തിരുത്തുകറഷ്യ, മംഗോളിയ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ ദ്വീപുകളിലൊ ചതുപ്പുകളിലൊ കൂട്ടമായി പ്രജനനം നടത്തുന്നു. നിൽത്തുണ്ടാക്കുന്ന കൂട്ടിൽ 2-4 മുട്ടകളിടുന്നു.
വിതരണം
തിരുത്തുകതണുപ്പുകാലത്ത് കിഴക്കൻ മെഡിറ്ററെനിയൻ, അറേബ്യ, ഇന്ത്യ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലേക്ക് ദേശാടനം നടത്തുന്നു. അപൂർവമായി ആഫ്രിക്ക യുടെ കിഴകൻ തീരങ്ങളിലും കാണാറുണ്ട്. [3]
രൂപ വിവരണം
തിരുത്തുക55-72 സെ.മീ നീളവും.142-170 സെ.മീ. ചിറകു വിരിപ്പും ഉണ്ട്. [4] [5] [6] പൂവനു ശരാശരിതൂക്കം 1.6.ഗ്രാമും പിടയ്ക്ക് 1.22 കി.ഗ്രാമും ആണ്. [7] ref name= "Olsen"/>വേനലിൽ കാലിനു മഞ്ഞ നിറവും കൊക്കിനു ചുവപ്പും ആണ്.
ഭക്ഷണം
തിരുത്തുകഇവ മത്സ്യം, ഞണ്ട്, ഞവുനി, പ്രാണികൾ, ചെറു സസ്തനികൾ എന്നിവ കഴിക്കുന്നു. ഇവ ഇര തേടുമ്പോൾ ശബ്ദം ഉണ്ടാക്കാറില്ല.
