അമേരിക്കൻ ഐക്യനാടുകളിൽ കാലിഫോർണിയ സംസ്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ വടക്കുഭാഗത്ത് ഷാസ്ത കൗണ്ടിയിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നതും കൌണ്ടി ആസ്ഥാനവുമായ ഒരു നഗരമാണ് ഔദ്യോഗികമായി റെഡ്ഡിംഗ് നഗരം എന്നറിയിപ്പെടുന്ന റെഡ്ഡിംഗ്. സാക്രമെന്റോ നദിയോരത്തുടനീളമായി സാക്രമെന്റോ നഗരത്തിനു 162 മൈൽ (261 കിലോമീറ്റർ) വടക്കായും ഒറിഗൺ അതിർത്തിയിൽ നിന്ന് 120 മൈൽ (190 കിലോമീറ്റർ) തെക്കായുമാണ് ഇതു സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. നഗരത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഏകദേശം 15 മൈൽ (24 കിലോമീറ്റർ) വടക്കായി സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ഷാസ്ത തടാകത്തിനു സമീപത്തെത്തുന്നതിനുമുമ്പായി, തെക്കു ഭാഗത്തുനിന്നു വടക്ക് ഭാഗത്തേയ്ക്കു പോകുന്ന ഇന്റർസ്റ്റേറ്റ് 5 പാത നഗരത്തെ രണ്ടായി ഛേദിച്ചു കടന്നുപോകുന്നു. 2010 ലെ കണക്കുകൾ പ്രകാരം ഈ നഗരത്തിലെ ആകെ ജനസംഖ്യ 89,861 ആയിരുന്നു.[5][6] ശാസ്ത കാസ്കേഡ് മേഖലയിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ നഗരമെന്നതോടൊപ്പം സക്രാമെന്റോ, എൽക് ഗ്രോവ്, റോസ്‍വില്ലെ, വക്കാവില്ലെ, ചിക്കോ എന്നിവയ്ക്കു പിന്നിൽ സാക്രമെന്റോ താഴ്വരയിലെ ആറാമത്തെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ പട്ടണവുമാണിത്.
