മനോഹാര

ജാതക കഥകളിലൊന്നിലെ കിന്നാരി (അർദ്ധ സ്ത്രീ, പകുതി പക്ഷി) നായികയാണ് മനോഹാര. കിംനാര രാജാവിന്റെ ഏഴ് പെൺമക്കളിൽ ഇളയവളായ മനോഹാര കൈലാഷ് പർവതത്തിലാണ് താമസിക്കുന്നത്. സാധാരണയായി മനോഹാര എന്നും സുധാന രാജകുമാരൻ എന്നും വിളിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ഈ ഇതിഹാസം ദിവ്യാവദാനത്തിൽ പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെടുന്നു. ഇതിനെക്കുറിച്ച് ബോറോബോഡൂരിലെ ശിലാശ്വാസങ്ങൾ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.[1][2]

ഈ കഥ മ്യാൻമർ, കംബോഡിയ,[3] തായ്ലൻഡ്, ലാവോസ്, ശ്രീലങ്ക, വടക്കൻ മലേഷ്യ, ഇന്തോനേഷ്യ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലെ നാടോടിക്കഥകളിൽ കാണാം.[4][5][6][7] ക്രി.വ. 1450-1470 കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ ചിയാങ്‌മയിയിൽ ഒരു ബുദ്ധ സന്യാസി / മുനി എഴുതിയ പാലി പുസ്തകമായ പന്നസ്‌ജാതകത്തിൽ സുധാനയുടെയും മനോഹാരയുടെയും കഥയും പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ട്.[8]
