ലെഗ്യൂം കുടുംബത്തിലെ ഫാബേസീയിലെ പൂച്ചെടികളുടെ ഒരു ജനുസ്സാണ് ബ്രിയ. ഇത് ഫബോയിഡേ ഉപകുടുംബത്തിൽപ്പെട്ടതാണ്. അടുത്തിടെ ഡാൽബെർജീയുടെ അനൌദ്യോഗിക മോണോഫൈലെറ്റിക് റ്റെറോകാർപസ് ക്ലേഡിൽ ഇതിനെ നിയമിക്കുകയുണ്ടായി.[5][6] ഇതിന്റെ സ്പീഷീസിൽപ്പെടുന്ന ബ്രയാ ഇബെനസ്, ഒരു വിലയേറിയ മരം ആണ്.
