ബുൾഡോഗ് ഉറുമ്പ്

ഉറുമ്പുകളിലെ ഒരു ജനുസ്സാണ് ബുൾഡോഗ് ഉറുമ്പ് - (മിർമീസിയ). ബുൾ ആന്റ്സ്, ഇഞ്ച് ആന്റ്സ്, സെർഗെന്റ് ആന്റ്സ്, ജമ്പർ ആന്റ്സ്, ജാക്ക് ജമ്പർ എന്നൊക്കെയും ഇവ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു. വളരെ ശൗര്യമുള്ള ഇനം ഉറുമ്പുകളാണ് ഇവ. ഓസ്ട്രേലിയയിലാണ് ഇവ കൂടുതലായും കണ്ടു വരുന്നത്. ഉളി പോലുള്ള പല്ലു കൊണ്ട് ഇവ കടിച്ചു പറിക്കുകയാണ് ചെയ്യുന്നത്. വിഷം കലർന്ന ഫോമിക് ആസിഡ് ഇരയുടെ ശരീരത്തിൽ കുത്തി വയ്ക്കും. ഏറ്റവും അപകടകാരികളായ ഉറുമ്പുകളായാണ് ഇവ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്. ഈ ഉറുമ്പിൽ നിന്നും 30 കടി ഏറ്റാൽ മനുഷ്യനു മരണം സംഭവിക്കാം.
