പാക്കിസ്ഥാന്‍, ചൈന, ഇന്ത്യ എന്നീ രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെ അതിര്‍ത്തിയില്‍ ജില്‍ജിത്, ലഡാക്ക്, ബാല്‍തിസ്ഥാന്‍ എന്നീ മേഖലകളില്‍ വ്യാപിച്ച് കിടക്കുന്ന പര്‍വ്വതനിരയാണ്‌ കാറക്കോറം. ഏഷ്യയിലെ ഏറ്റവു വലിയ പര്‍വ്വതനിരകളില്‍പ്പെട്ടതാണ്‌ ഇത്. ഹിമാലയത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി ഇതിനെ കണക്കാക്കാറുണ്ടെങ്കിലും സങ്കേതികമായി ഹിമാലയത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമല്ല ഇത്.
