ആദ്യ ജീവിതം
തിരുത്തുക1962 ൽ കാൺപൂരിലാണ് പൂനം ജനിച്ചത്. സ്കൂൾ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം പൂർത്തികരിച്ചത് ചണ്ഡിഗഡിൽ നിന്നാണ്.
അഭിനയ ജീവിതം
തിരുത്തുകതന്റെ 16ആം വയസ്സിൽ പൂനം മിസ്സ്. യങ്ങ് ഇന്ത്യ കിരീടം നേടി.[1][2].
പിന്നീട് പ്രമുഖ സംവിധായകനായ യാശ് ചോപ്ര തന്റെ ചിത്രമായ 1978 ലിറങ്ങിയ തൃശ്ശൂൽ എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിൽ അവസരം കൊടുത്തു. ഇതിൽ ഒരു ഗാന രംഗത്തിൽ മാത്രമേ പ്രധാന വേഷത്തിൽ അഭിനയിച്ചത്. പിന്നീട് ഒരു നായിക വേഷത്തിൽ 1979 ൽ നൂരി എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിൽ അവസരം കൊടുത്തു. ഈ ചിത്രം ഒരു വിജയമായിരുന്നു..[3] പിന്നീട് 1990 കളുടെ അവസാനം വരെ പൂനം ഏകദേശം 90 ലധികം ചിത്രങ്ങളിൽ അഭിനയിച്ചു.[4] ചില കന്നട ചിത്രങ്ങളിലും പൂനം അഭിനയിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
സ്വകാര്യ ജീവിതം
തിരുത്തുകചലച്ചിത്രം നിർമ്മാതാവായ അശോക് തക്കേരിയയെ 1988 ൽ വിവാഹം ചെയ്തു. ഇവർക്ക് രണ്ട് കുട്ടികളുണ്ട്. 1997 ഇവർ പിരിഞ്ഞു. പിന്നീട് പൂനം 2004 ൽ രാഷ്ട്രീയ പ്രവർത്തനത്തിലേക്ക് തിരിയുകയും ഭാരതീയ ജനതാ പാർട്ടിയിൽ ചേരുകയും ചെയ്തു.
