മുൻ കളിക്കാരനായ മസീഞ്ഞോയുടെ മൂത്ത കുട്ടിയായി ഇറ്റലിയിൽ ജനിച്ച തിയാഗോ, തന്റെ പതിനാലാം വയസ്സിൽ ബാഴ്‌സലോണയിൽ ചേർന്നു. ബാഴ്‌സലോണയ്ക്കൊപ്പം നാല് ലാ ലിഗാ കിരീടങ്ങൾ, യുവേഫ ചാമ്പ്യൻസ് ലീഗ്, ഫിഫ ക്ലബ് ലോകകപ്പ് എന്നിവ ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള ബഹുമതികൾ നേടിയ ശേഷം അദ്ദേഹം 2013 ൽ 25 ദശലക്ഷം യൂറോ പ്രതിഫലതുകക്ക് ബയേൺ മ്യുണിക്കുമായി കരാറിൽ ഒപ്പിട്ടു. ജർമ്മനിയിൽ തിയാഗോ ഏഴു ബുണ്ടെസ്‌ലിഗാ ഉൾപ്പെടെ 16 ട്രോഫികളും ഒരു കോണ്ടിനെന്റൽ ട്രെബിളിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി യുവേഫ ചാമ്പ്യൻസ് ലീഗും നേടി. 2020 ൽ ലിവർപൂളിനായി 20 മില്യൺ പൗണ്ട് വിലമതിക്കുന്ന ഒരു കൈമാറ്റക്കരാറിൽ അദ്ദേഹം ഒപ്പിട്ടു.
