ചെവ്വ ഭാഷ
ന്യാഞ്ജ എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ചെവ്വ ഭാഷ ബാണ്ടു ഭാഷാകുടുംബത്തിൽപ്പെട്ട ആഫ്രിക്കൻ ഭാഷയാണ്. ചി എന്നത് ഭാഷകൾക്ക് ആ ഭാഷകളിൽ ഉപയൊഗിക്കുന്ന നാമങ്ങളുടെ പ്രെഫിക്സ് ആകുന്നു.[4] അതിനാൽ ഈ ഭാഷ ചിചെവ്വ എന്നും ചിന്യാഞ്ച എന്നും വിളിക്കപ്പെടുന്നുണ്ട്. (സാംബിയയിൽ കിന്യാഞ്ച എന്നും മൊസാംബിക്കിൽ ഇതിനെ കിനിയാഞ്ച എന്നും വിളിച്ചുവരുന്നു) മലാവിയിൽ ഔദ്യോഗികമായി ഈ ഭാഷയുടെ പേര് 1968ൽ ചിച്ചെവ്വ എന്നു മാറ്റിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ചെവ്വ ഗോത്രത്തിൽപ്പെട്ട പ്രസിഡന്റ് ആയിരുന്ന ഹേസ്റ്റിങ്സ് കാമുസു ബണ്ട ആണിത് മാറ്റിയത്. മലാവിയിൽ ഇന്നും ഈ പേരിൽ ആണീ ഭാഷ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്.[5] സാംബിയയിൽ ചിച്ചെവ്വയ്ക്കു പകരം ചിന്യാഞ്ച എന്ന് ഈ ഭാഷ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു.
