ഒളിമ്പിക് മെഡൽ ജേതാവായ സൗത്ത് ആഫ്രിക്കക്കാരിയായ മധ്യദൂര ഓട്ടക്കാരിയാണ് കാസ്റ്റെർ സെമന്യ. ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് :Caster Semenya. (ജനനം 7 January 1991) പൂർണ്ണനാമം: മൊഗ്ഗാദി കാസ്റ്റെർ സെമെന്യ.[1] 2009 ലെ ലോക ചാമ്പ്യൻഷിപ്പിൽ 800 മീറ്റർ ഓട്ടത്തിൽ സ്വർണ്ണ മെഡലും (സമയം:1:55.45) 2011 ലേതിൽ വെള്ളി മെഡലും കരസ്ഥമാക്കി. 2012 സമ്മർ ഒളിമ്പിക്സിലും വെള്ളി മെഡൽ നേടി. 2016 ലെ റിയോ ഒളിമ്പിക്സിൽ സ്വർണ്ണം നേടാനായി [2][3][4][5] എന്നാൽ സഹതാരങ്ങൾ പലരും സെമന്യ ഒരു പുരുഷനാണെന്ന് ആരോപിച്ചതും സ്വന്തം സമയങ്ങൾ തന്നെ വളരെ ചുരുങ്ങിയകാലത്തിനുള്ളിൽ തിരുത്തിക്കുറിച്ചതും സെമന്യയുടെ മുകളിൽ സംശയത്തിന്റെ നിഴൽ പതിപ്പിച്ചു.[6] സമാന കാരണങ്ങൾ ആരോപിച്ച് ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ദുത്തീ ചന്ദിനെ തടഞ്ഞു വച്ചതും സെമന്യയുടെ സംഭവവും വലിയ വിവാദങ്ങൾക്ക് തിരികൊളുത്തി.

സൗത്ത് ആഫ്രിക്കയിലെ പൊളോക്വേൻ (പീറ്റേർസ്ബർഗ്) അടുത്തുള്ള ഗാ-മാസെഹ്ലോങ് എന്ന ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ 1991 ജനുവരി 7 നാണ് സെമെന്യ ജനിച്ചത്. സൗത്ത് ആഫ്രിക്കയിലെ തന്നെ ലിമ്പോവോ പ്രവിശ്യയിലെ ഫെയർലീ എന്ന ഗ്രാമത്തിലാണ് അവൾ വളർന്നത്. 3 സഹോദരിമാരും ഒരു സഹോദരനും ഉണ്ട്.[7][8] എന്തേമ സെക്കന്ററി സ്കൂളിലാണ് പ്രാഥമിക, ദ്വിതീയ തല വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം പൂർത്തിയാക്കിയത്. ഇപ്പോൾ പ്രിട്ടോറിയ സർവ്വകലാശാലയിലെ സ്പോർസ് സയൻസ് വിദ്യാർത്ഥിയാണ്.[9] ഫുട്ബോൾ കളിക്കാനുള്ള പരിശീലനത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായാണ് ശരിക്കും സെമെന്യ ഓട്ടം തുടങ്ങിയത്.[10]

2017 ജനുവരിയിൽ തന്റെ ചിരകാല സുഹ്രുത്തും പങ്കാളിയുമായ വയലറ്റ് റസേബോയ എന്ന സ്ത്രീയെ കല്യാണം കഴിച്ചു.[11]

20018 ജൂലൈയിൽ നടന്ന ലോക ജൂനിയർ ചാമ്പ്യൻഷിപ്പിൽ 800 മീറ്റർ മത്സരത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കുകയും പിന്നീട് നടന്ന കോമ്മൺ വെൽത് യൂത്ത് ഗെയിംസിൽ 2:04.23. സമയത്തോടെ സ്വർണ്ണം നേടുകയും ചെയ്തു.[12]
