കാറ്റൽ ഹുയുക്
ലോകത്തിലെ ആദ്യകാല നഗരങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നായിരുന്നു തുർക്കിയിലെ തെക്കൻ അനറ്റോളിയയിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്തിരുന്ന കാറ്റൽ ഹുയുക്. നവീന ശിലായുഗ വെങ്കല യുഗ കാലഘട്ടങ്ങളിൽ (ക്രി.മു. 7500 -5700) വളരെ വലിയ ഒരു ജനപദമായിരുന്നു ഇവിടം. 2012 ജൂലായിൽ കാറ്റൽ ഹുയുക് യുനെസ്കോ ലോക പൈതൃക പട്ടികയിൽ ഇടം നേടി. [1]

പുരാവസ്തുശാസ്ത്രം തിരുത്തുക
1958 ൽ ജെയിംസ് മെല്ലാർട്ട് ആണ് ഈ പ്രദേശത്ത് ആദ്യമായി ഖനനം നടത്തിയത്. പിന്നീട് അദ്ദേഹം ഒരു ടീമിനെ നയിച്ചെത്തുകയും 1961 നും 1965 നും ഇടയിൽ നാല് സീസണുകളിലായി അവിടെ കൂടുതൽ ഖനനം നടത്തി..[2][3][4][5] നിയോലിത്തിക്ക് കാലഘട്ടത്തിലെ നൂതന സംസ്കാരത്തിന്റെ കേന്ദ്രമായിരുന്ന അനറ്റോലിയയുടെ ഈ ഭാഗമെന്ന് ഈ ഖനനത്തിലൂടെ വെളിവാക്കപ്പെട്ടു.[6]
