എലിയാസ് ആഷ്മോൾ
എലിയാസ് ആഷ്മോൾ (Elias Ashmole (/ɨlaɪʌs æʃmoʊl/; 23 മെയ് 1617 – 18 മെയ് 1692)) പ്രസിദ്ധനായ ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് പുരാവസ്തു ഗവേഷകനും , രാഷ്ട്രീയ പ്രവർത്തകനും , ജ്യോത്സ്യനും ആയിരുന്നു. ആൽകെമി വിദ്യാർഥി ആയിരുന്ന ഇദ്ദേഹം ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ആഫീസർ ആഫ് ദ ആംസ് ( British Officer of the Arms ) പദവിയും വഹിച്ചിരുന്നു. 1642–1651 കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ നടന്ന ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് ആഭ്യന്തരയുദ്ധ സമയത്ത് [1] ഇദ്ദേഹം രാജഭരണത്തെ അനുകൂലിച്ചിരുന്നു . യുദ്ധാന്തരം ചാൾസ് രണ്ടാമൻ രാജാവ് ഇദ്ദേഹത്തിനു പല പദവികളും നൽകി .

മികച്ച പുരാവസ്തു ഗവേഷകൻ ആയിരുന്ന ഇദ്ദേഹം ബാക്കോണിയൻ രീതി [2] പിന്തുടർന്ന പ്രകൃതി നിരീക്ഷകനും ആയിരുന്നു.[3] ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് ചരിത്രം , നിയമം , നാണയശാസ്‌ത്രം, ദേശവർണ്ണനം , രസവാദവിദ്യ ( ആൽകെമി ) , ജ്യോതിഷം,ജ്യോതിശാസ്ത്രം,സസ്യശാസ്ത്രം തുടങ്ങിയ വിഷയങ്ങളിലും അദ്ദേഹത്തിനു അവഗാഹം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
