സിംഫണി

പാശ്ചാത്യസംഗീതത്തിലെ ഒരു സങ്കേതം. വിവിധ സംഗീതഉപകരണങ്ങൾ ഏകാത്മകമായ വായിക്കുന്ന ഓർക്കസ്ട്രയാണ് സിഫണി. മൊസാർട്ടിന്റെയും ബിഥോവന്റെയും മറ്റും സിംഫണികൾ വളരെ പ്രശസ്തമാണ്. പാശ്ചാത്യ ഓർക്കസ്ട്രയിൽ സിംഫണിക്ക് വളരെയധികം പ്രാധാന്യമുണ്ട്. എന്നാൽ ഇന്ത്യൻ സംഗീതത്തിൽ സിംഫണിയേക്കാൾ പ്രാധാന്യം ഹാർമണിക്കാണ്.
