മതനേതാക്കളുടെയോ വിശുദ്ധരുടെയോ ജീവചരിത്രങ്ങളെ പൊതുവെ ഹഗിയോഗ്രഫി (/ˌhæɡiˈɒɡrəfi/; വിശുദ്ധമെന്നർത്ഥമുള്ള ഹഗിയ, എഴുത്ത് എന്നർത്ഥമുള്ള ഗ്രാഫിയ എന്നീ പുരാതന ഗ്രീക്ക് വാക്കുകൾ ചേർന്ന് രൂപപ്പെട്ടത്)[1] എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്നു. ഇത്തരം എഴുത്തുകൾ വിറ്റ എന്ന റോമൻ പേരിലും അറിയപ്പെട്ടുവരുന്നു.
