സെത്ത്
പുരാതന ഈജിപ്ഷ്യൻ വിശ്വാസപ്രകാരം മരുഭൂമി, കൊടുങ്കാറ്റ്, അവ്യവസ്ഥ, അക്രമം, വിദേശികൾ എന്നിവയുടെ അധിപദേവനാണ് സെത്ത് അഥവാ സെറ്റ് (ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്: Set /sɛt/ or Seth (/sɛθ/; also spelled Setesh, Sutekh, Setekh, or Suty)[1] പ്രാചീന ഗ്രീസിൽ, സെത്ത് ദേവൻ സേത്ത് (Sēth (Σήθ)) എന്ന് അറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. നിഷേധാത്മക മായ കാര്യങ്ങളുടെ ദേവനാണെങ്കിൽകൂടിയും സേത്തിന് ഈജിപ്ഷ്യൻ ഐതിഹ്യത്തിൽ വളരെ പ്രമുഖമായ സ്ഥാനംതന്നെയാണ് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നത്. സൂര്യദേവനായ റാ, അപേപ് സർപ്പത്തെ പ്രതിരോധിക്കുന്നതിനുവേണ്ടി തന്റെ സൗരകപ്പലിൽ സേത്തിനെയാണ് നിയമിച്ചത്.[2] അനുരജ്ഞനപ്പെടുന്ന യോദ്ധാവ് എന്ന നിലയിലും സെത്തിന് വളരെ നിർണ്ണായകമായ സ്ഥാനമാണുള്ളത്[2] മരുഭൂമിയിലെ ചുവന്നമണ്ണിന്റെ ദേവനായി സെത്തിനെ കരുതിയിരുന്നു.[2]
