സുന്ദർ നഗർ
ഹിമാചൽ പ്രദേശിലെ മണ്ഡി ജില്ലയിലുള്ള ഒരു മുൻസിപ്പൽ ടൗൺ ആണ് സുന്ദർ നഗർ. ഹിമാലയത്തിന്റെ മടിത്തട്ടിൽ, സമുദ്രനിരപ്പിൽ നിന്നും 800 മീറ്റർ ഉയരത്തിലായാണ് ഈ നഗരം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്[1]. രാജഭരണകാലത്ത് സുന്ദർ നഗർ, സുകേത് എന്ന നാട്ടുരാജ്യം ആയിരുന്നു[2]. ചണ്ടീഗഡ് - മനാലി ദേശീയപാതയിലൂടെ ചണ്ടീഗഡിൽ നിന്നും 170 കിലോമീറ്റർ സഞ്ചരിച്ചാൽ സുന്ദർ നഗറിലെത്താം. ഷിംല - 135 കി.മീ, മനാലി- 126 കി.മീ , ധരംശാല -170 കി.മീ, കുളു -84 കി.മീ, ഡൽഹി - 416 കി.മീ എന്നിങ്ങനെയാണ് പ്രധാന സ്ഥലങ്ങളിലെ നിന്നും ഇവിടേക്കുള്ള ദൂരവ്യത്യാസം. ഏറ്റവുമുടുത്ത റെയിൽവെ സ്റ്റേഷൻ പത്താൻകോട്ടിലും വിമാനത്താവളം കുളുവിലുമാണ് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്[3]. നഗരഹൃദയത്തിലായി 7 കി.മീ വിസ്തൃതിയുള്ള ഒരു തടാകവുമുണ്ട്. 2001 ലെ സെൻസസ് പ്രകാരം 24,000 ആണ് ഇവിടുത്തെ ജനസംഖ്യ[4] .
