ഇറ്റാലിയൻ ദേശീയ ഫുട്ബോൾ ലീഗാണ് സീരി എ എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന സീരി എ ടി.ഐ.എം [1] . ഇറ്റാലിയൻ ഫുട്ബോളിലെ പ്രഥമ സ്ഥാനത്തുള്ള ലീഗാണിത്. 20 ടീമുകളാണ് ഓരോ സീസണിലും സീരി എയിൽ മത്സരിക്കുന്നത്. ഇതിൽ 17 ടീമുകൾ മുൻവർഷത്തെ ടീമുകളും മൂന്ന് ടീമുകൾ രണ്ടാം ഡിവിഷൻ ലീഗായ സീരി ബിയിൽ നിന്ന് ഉയർത്തപ്പെട്ട ടീമുകളുമാണ്. രണ്ടാം ഡിവിഷനിൽ നിന്ന് മൂന്ന് ടീമുകൾ ഉയർത്തപ്പെടുന്നതോടൊപ്പം സീരി എയിലെ അവസാന മൂന്ന് സ്ഥാനക്കാരെ രണ്ടാം ഡിവിഷനിലേക്ക് തരം താഴ്ത്തപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യും.
